You guy's bitc#ing about tool marks, go buy CZ 858 and then you might have a reason for bitc#ing.
Nothing wrong with a good priced ditch pig that always makes you smile after shooting.
NEA is active and working with customers to fix the problems with their new product.
I dont see this much #####ing with the Kel-tecs and JR Carbines that have been pita's.

The tool marks have only come to light this week. I didn't realize you could see them. In fact I did go look at my CZ858. Yes a fair amount of marks. Still less though than some of the ones pictured lately. This is on a $700 former Comblock built/designed rifle from the 50s. $400 less and a rifle built and designed as a better than the AK firearm. It also goes bang every time.
Comparing a modern AR product for fit/finish to a 1950s Combloc gun doesn't say good things about the modern one. If you're paying $5 for some kids in Afghanistan to make one then OK.
So Shillax and keep it realistic.

Most parts you cant, or they're very faint. The upper receiver posted recently is not consistent with what people get. It appears one of the elves we work in the dark grabbed a old upper and put it out the door.
Anything billets is going to have "some" tooling marks. Our parts get blasted, blended and tumbled.. or should. Those two components weren't. And yes, we're embarrassed by it. Especially considering the quality the last several batches have been. Good news is that the next batch is even better, so compared to those we'll be looking stellar.
My NEA upper is pretty good, hardly any tool marks, still waiting on some parts to complete and shoot the build though...i want to support NEA and give their AR a try, but wanted to put the parts i wanted in it...
On the topic of the CZ/VZ...yes the cz858s have some tooling marks but they are from the 50s, the new CSA's on the other hand are better...nonetheless the VZs shoot every time...NEA ARs...not so much

My LAR mags. Ranger plates are a MUST for these short mags.
i got a couple lar waiting to be used. hey nine did you find these mags to have some pretty rough/sharp edges on the feed lips? when i first loaded them up with rounds i couldn't strip them out without a tool due to the roughness/sharpness so i took some emory cloth and smoothed those edges and now its like BUTTER. also shot a bit of lube inside the mag body and worked the followers up and down a bit much better now than they were out of the box.

Dweenz I have the same mags and had the same issue your talking about with the sharp edges on the feed lips. Like you, after a bit of smoothing with Emory cloth, it's all good.
OK. Finally got some range time today....
I had a FREAK'N BLAST with this thing.
140 rounds through the barrel, no FTF, FTE, no problems. The only problem I had was that it is way to easy to dump 10 rounds. "Hmmm... that was $5."

Sighted it in at about 1" low at 25M.
My front sight is a big fat fatso. But it's not a target rifle, and I love it.
