NO 2011 Western Canada F-Class Championship at Vokes.

we used the right foot variable quite extensivly on the first trip. On the way back, we left right after the awards and made it to Dryden. The next day we got as far as Ottawa, but that was definatly a hell day. I think we pulled in at 03:00. The next day it was all I could do to make it the last 11 hrs. Definatly couldn't do 4-5 days like that! hmm, 5 days driving each way, 3 days of competing, likly divorce for being gone for 2 weeks- there's gonna have to be a better way!

Matt - I'll pick you up at the Abbotsford airport - about 9 hour drive for me. While you're adjusting to the 4 time zones, I'll see if Glen can touch up your trigger and I'll make sure your extractor is ok.

For personal reasons, I have stepped down as F-Class director for the BCRA. I am also going to be stepping out of the DCRA western director's position. As a result, I have no idea what the plan is for this match.

When things stop being fun, I't time to re-evaluate things. In this case, one of our local PRA officers used his position to forward his own personal jealousies and agendas. He has been on such a campaign for over a year and has actively tried to undermine a great deal of what I and our club level shooters have been trying to build. His character and his methods were utterly cowardly and despicable.

I was so stunned by what he attempted to pull, that came to the realization that I will not fill a volunteer role with such unscrupulous peole trying to subvert my efforts.

I have turned in my PRA membership in protest. I'm going back to ocean fishing. It was a solo sport, no clubs, no politics and no TR/F-Class petty jealousy.

Ian, I'm distressed to hear of your predicament, the details of which one can only imagine. They must be insurmountable forcing you take such drastic action. I, for one, cannot imagine F Class in BC continuing successfully without your direct guidance, prospering attitude and tireless effort. I believe we'll miss your involvement greatly. Any chance of a cooling period and some direct communication with said instigator? We'd welcome you at Homestead with open arms.
Cheers, Glen

I'm sorry to hear this Ian. Do what you need to do for your own sanity- and accept the thanks of Canadian F'ers everywhere for what you have done to help our sport to grow. I can see you as Santiago out on the great blue somewhere- just don't let the sharks, or orkas get your fish!

I have been informed by a BC F class shooter that the BCRA executive has voted to withdraw their support for the 2011 WCFCC. The match has been cancelled and the BCRA has reallocated the range time to another event.

I have sent an email to the BCRA executive seeking confirmation of this information.

I will post whatever reply the BCRA provides.

There is nothing more deflating than one putting there heart and soul into something they love and believe in just to have individuals undermine there intelligence.

Good luck Ian and stick to your guns. We must do what we must to stay sane.

Calvin

Les, if this is so, we at the APRA may be able to host the 2011 WCFCC. We'll need to do some in-house discussions and also approach the DCRA. I'll leave it at that for now until we hear from the BCRA.

WOW Ian, that is horrid news. You have done so much to move the shooting sport forward in the last few years. We now have sell out crowds with lots of new eager shooters.

That is from the positive environment that was created.

Hope this will pass and we can get back to shooting paper, not at each other.

Jerry
