NO 2011 Western Canada F-Class Championship at Vokes.

You have done so much to move the shooting sport forward in the last few years. We now have sell out crowds with lots of new eager shooters.

That is from the positive environment that was created.

Jerry

It takes only a few people with a personal agenda's to set the progress, that has been made, back to the stone ages.

The actions taken will not pass without consequences.

I'm not sure what happened to get you to this position Ian, But I wish you had stayed at the AGM and explained the situation , I would have liked to heard for myself. No one would comment much on it after you left.
You have done a Great job for shooters, And you are Highly respected.

I will say this sucks big time, I was looking forward to going out and seeing BC again.
Sorry to see you step down Ian you seemed to be pushing us all in the right direction and your future plans for the sport were impressive.

ALL remember that 1 person CANNOT do it on there own. It appears to be a blow to the shooting community in BC. More people NEED to get involved and help there fellow commrade when times like these happen.

Actually Calvin, I have nothing but the highest respect and regard for those with whom I have enjoyed the sport. There are plenty of unsung heros out there that have taken it on the chin trying to do what is best for the sport, and have stuck with it. They are worthy of our respect and our support.

The sport can go nowhere but up because of the great people that have gotten involved. Look out Calvin because now I want to try benchrest :) I got a most touching email from Rpollock and I look very much forward to meeting all of you guys one day.

The boys in AB were looking at hosting it but I have not heard word since talking to Glen T a few weeks ago as to whether it will be a go or not.

Maybe Glen T will give me a call in the next few days/weeks and give me the inside scoop. **hint hint** :D

The DCRA annual meetings were this past weekend. I believe one of the items to be discussed and voted on was the 2011 Westerns. We should all hear something in the next couple of weks.

Just to clean up this post a bit,

If there is to be a 2011 WCFCC, it will not be by my efforts and it will not be at Vokes. Petty politics and subversive agendas have once again ruined what was a good thing, and adds justification to my argument that (y)our sport should be represented by a separate association, and (y)our matches should be separate from TR.

Ian,

I have always been interested in F Class but would shoot in the F/TR class due to the rifles I own. I have participated in several Sniper competitions and also participated twice in the Canadian Intl Sniper Concentration (CISC) through work. I get confused sometimes regarding the different classes. Are you referring to F/TR when you say separate from TR. Excuse my ignorance but am not well versed in the F Class world. Based on your post is there a conflict between TR and F Class Open. I know it all falls under F Class but obviously there is a difference.

Ian is referring to the Target Rifle (TR) and F-Class divisions within fullbore rifle shooting. F-Class is further split into the F-TR (308 or 223) and F-Open (anything up to 8mm).

The website at http://dcra.ca/rulebooks/2009/2009 ...Of Fullbore Rifle Competitions - Complete.pdf can help you with the rules in detail.

Come on out to the 2011 WCFCC at Homestead in the July long weekend - hope to see you there. Last year in Winnipeg, there were 24 F-TR shooters and 21 F-Open, with a whole lot of good compitition and great times.
