Just to clean up this post a bit,

If there is to be a 2011 WCFCC, it will not be by my efforts and it will not be at Vokes. Petty politics and subversive agendas have once again ruined what was a good thing, and adds justification to my argument that (y)our sport should be represented by a separate association, and (y)our matches should be separate from TR.

The problem w/ driving out, is you have to drive back! Two of us did it for the PGW shoot in July, and that went well, but I'm not sure I'm up for the extra few days that BC would require.

Great, now I have to learn to shoot in meters ;)

Save a spot on the line for this Winnipegger! I'm bookin' the vacation as I type.

I'll bring my back up lawn chair and everything.

Good fake, while Cyanide is laughing about your back up you'll probably have a choice of two rifles by then.If I can find another shooter or two to share the ride I should be there also.

GSOD, never mind having to learn to shoot in meters. Now we have to learn to shoot at their teeny tiny 300m ICFRA centres. Those things are even more ridiculously small than the .5 moa centres we've been using.

We are going to have to spend the winter shooting at (and hitting) nickels at 300m in practice if we want to give those wet coasters a run for their money.

Good thing that there's never any wind at Volks range. ;)

Sounds like there's going to be a big contingent from MB. I can think of half a dozen that are already interested. Convoy anyone?

Just to make you aware (and there will be a comprehensive package forthcoming) the Rifle Range is roughly 20K from the towns of Vedder and Sardis. There are several reasonable hotels in the area, plus for those that wish to camp. there is a stunning bivouac area at the range amongst the beautiful west coast rain forest. There are portable bivvies but no water or power.

CyaN1de has mentioned that his trailer will hold 15 and he is willing to sleep under his truck to accomodate out of towners

Anyway, i will be trying to set up group rates at some of the hotels around the area. I might suggest that if you plan on flying, if you can get directly to Abbotsford Airport, it saves a whole bunch of city driving. A group getting together and renting a passenger van for the 4-5 days would be a great way to get back and forth.

There will be a few local residents participating and I would like to encourage the idea of possibility billeting some of our out-of-town guests... Any local folk willing to do this, i would sure like to hear from you and we will set up a billet hook-up system.

Because we are so far from town, I will be arranging an on-site concession. We will have soft drinks and such supplied for free but in the interest of keeping entry fees modest, we will likely not do catered lunches (Unless I hear this is what everyone wants).

I must stress that while this is our target dates, we are counting on the Canadian Forces to have these dates open, and this could potentially change. We will make sure this is well publicized, and dates will be solidified before we even accept entry forms.

I will set up a website with all the info in the new year.

Cheers,

Ian

Great, another reason to save up money for a spotting scope that I don't have. ;) Hope I'll have enough dough by Juky. :D

How much will the entrance fees be approximately?

Is it F-Class that has a restriction on trigger pull weight?

Nope. Any safe trigger.

Not set in stone yet, but likely $250-300 ish. We have pullers, sentries, safety staff and stats people to pay for 3 days. What we will not be doing is an early entry fee. It is just easier to keep it level and have everyone pay the same amount, It makes budgeting easier for an event that requires us to juggle numbers of entries with numbers of pullers right up to the last day. We are also acquiring the awards that will be kept in perpetuity for as long as this championship continues.
