No Depreciation?

Remember there are also some serious deals that people sometimes put up as well.

One of the major ones I remember from about 6-8 months ago was someone was selling off there Steyr M95 (and had one carcano and a Dutch Mannlicher in the mix as well) collection of 6 rifles for 1100$ or 200$ each gun. Most of the guns for sale were in the 250-300$ range well some like the Dutch Mannlicher was in the 400-500$ range. I personally didn't have the funds available at the time or I would have jumped on it but deals do come up. Even if you had bought all 6 for 1100$ (which is under 200$ a rifle) you could have sold the ones you didn't want and still pretty much make your money back well keeping 2 or 3 rifles.

Personally one of the things I like about Milsurps is you are generally able to sell them for what you paid for them give or take since they were a used rifle in the first place. The only exemption is the stuff that is still on the market as why pay 170$ for a Mosin Nagant 91/30 when you can go buy it for a similar price and know what condition it is in when you get it.

I've found some great deals and hard to find parts on the EE. I've also passed on some of those same hard to find parts/items that i would like to have solely based on what my limits were.

I keep a short/long list of items i'm looking for and base purchases on their average availability and current EE values. A little cross-referencing to actual dealer prices thrown in and if your not in a hurry some substantial savings can be generally be found if your willing to put in the time. If it's an item that is rare or hard to find, then you know you'll be paying a premium for those whether they're used or not. Some products hold their value, while others not so much. As a buyer or seller you should know your products and their value.

About the only gripe i have is seller/buyers who don't follow up or respond to communication sent or received. I always follow-up to all my communicaes, even a simple note telling the person where they stand in line for something i'm selling has been appreciative.

Happy EE hunting!

No Depreciation?
some makes and/or models have been increasing in price every year, at rates better than the banks are paying on your savings.

In my experience you have to list high on the EE to avoid the 50% guys, but I also take better care of my stuff than the vast majority of items I see on the used market. If you don't know market value of an item you make an offer on you are likely not going to get anywhere with trying to negotiate a price well under retail unless it is very common entry level stuff that the market is saturated with.

when are you guys going to figure this out? MOST of the sellers are actually gun stores. when they have product that doesn't move, they post ads here with higher prices than at there stores. you see the out of control prices, you run to the stores and buy their products.

genius really.
