No More Handguns from Stoeger includes Beretta Uberti Manurhin

Can't stock pile parts that aren't even avaliable.
World wife dement for more big companies are running at 97 too 100% ND with many product lines with a demand 2x thr capacity.

I could see where that is an issue, hard to get what you can't get..... put an order in and hope for political change and possibly receiving the order in the next year or so.

Either way it's going to be a tough time for the retailers with an artificially reduced market.

Statement from Stoeger today:

Due to pending government regulation, all existing handgun/revolver inventory has been committed and we are otherwise sold out.
Furthermore, based on the aforementioned, Stoeger Canada will not import additional quantities at this time.
As a result, with no possibility of fulfillment, we are in the process of cancelling all dealer backorders.

Likely a mistake by Stooges Canada

Anyone complaining about this or ascribing cowardice should immediately wire Stoeger the entire cost of the next order and put their own money on the line, or stfu. Businesses aren't in business to lose money by playing chicken with the (currently very stupid and unpredictable) Federal government. If everyone whining put up their own money as insurance should the PMO issue it's next decree then they might have an argument.

Remember what? Odds are Stoeger is probably still sitting on dead inventory from the OIC. As mentioned above, why in the world would they play chicken with the current unpredictable government of Canada. Every dealing I've had with stoeger has been great. Who knows how many kicks in the pants they can take before they close up shop. Would rather have Stoeger around than not.

So tell me they really can't export leftover inventory to the USA when the law kicks in? Or if the law kicks in they can't reroute a shipment? Guess my 50 years of working with businesses expects too much then.

I do appreciate being informed though. Thanks. (Really do mean thankyou).

It makes no sense to me how some posters are angry with Stoeger. This is a business decision, not a slight to gun owners or a political statement of any type. They sent this notification so their dealers and customers can plan ahead. If there was a way they could have product here in time to have it sold and transferred, I'm confident they would have done it. All distributors are doing their best without incurring more than acceptable risk. I'm thankful to Stoeger for this advanced warning so we can plan and work with what we know ; I hope other distributors will do the same as they receive their final shipments (final, for now?). It is never nice to see some members of this community turning on another member- in this case a distributor who has always been great to work with and a supporter of our business and hobbies.

I see you adopted the north silva model of business and are deleting posts that are critical of the issue.

Only one post was deleted- we won't allowed swearing on our sub form, even in abbreviated form. Please feel free to reword and repost

Not as easy as it once was- USA now requires those guns to be engraved- causes expense and devalues. Of course, we have no way to know all the considerations Stoeger has put into this decision- but we can be confident that much of it was based on the timing of product availability. It can take weeks to import large firearms shipments and the CBSA can cause long delays too.

LOl! That's your reasoning? Not buying it.

Anyhow, they arent giving anyone a head's up.
Tellling consumers after the fact doesnt help them.

Plan ahead? How? Get in our time machines and order Stoeger items?
I dont think you get it: This issue isnt about the notice, its about the timing of the notice. They could have warned people long before and then allowed possibly a few more orders come in before any self imposed cut-off.
Any respectale business does this. Part is going obsolete? You warn your customers up front. Manfucturer tells distributers/retailers they are stopping production? They warn them and tell them to get their orders in by a certain date to ensure availalbility and the parts are provided in a final delivery.

Talk to the conservative leadership contenders and ask what their position is. Other than Jean Charest they all have said the ban on patrol carbines and the freeze of handgun sales is wrong, morally, constitutionally, and economically.

Sadly, the lead times we deal with in the firearms industry, given production lead times, material shortages, transit/shipping, licensing delays, coupled with demand at an all-time high, mean that even if Stoeger began ordering more handguns the second we heard of an impending ban, they still likely wouldn't have been able to source them within a reasonable time frame to get them here before Fall.

Most guns you see on the shelves here in Canada were booked/ordered 6, 12, maybe 18+ months ahead of time. Dealers and distributors can't just call up and order product for next-day delivery, it takes months under most circumstances.

...but they wait until now to make the announcement? Uh huh.
