Pulled my TM1 out of the safe this evening to give it a thorough cleaning and lubing to get it ready for AB Provincial Championships/Western Zone this coming weekend. I dropped the trigger out. It looked good, nice and clean but I decided to give it a wiping down and re-lube. I applied a few drops of oil and went to push the hammer back down into the firing position and it broke in half as soon as I pulled it back with my thumb. I've never dry fired it and I always hold my thumb over it and hold it back to let it down gently when I pull the trigger to release it for cleaning. I was momentarily shocked to say the least. Now the scramble is on to see if I can find a hammer to swap out or possibly a spare trigger before the weekend. It's that or shoot either my Maxus Sporting Clays which I currently use for doubles or shoot my Browning Recoilless.

No kidding! The scramble is on to find a hammer. That will teach me not to have a spare trigger group.
I've never had a trigger failure on a Perazzi but I just purchased a used trigger group to have as a spare just in case. A new non-selectable trigger groups for an Mx8 is $2k these days and a selectable one is $4k!
Give Les Myers a call and see if he has a hammer. I'll pm his number if you like.

Fortunately I've located a hammer but it won't be here in time for the shoot however a fellow AB shooter has offered me the use of his spare trigger group until I can repair mine. Two fellows I know that would have had both just unloaded their spares at Canadians.

If need be I'll let you shoot my MX14 this weekend no rental fee even ................ how much better can you get than that

Bring to a welder …simple fix
Not so much from what I'm told. Apparently to fix it properly it needs to be annealed soft then welded with identical material then re-hardened properly. In looking into it I'm finding the majority who have had this done have experienced them cracking again within a couple thousand rounds. I ordered a new Guliani made hammer from Target Shotguns Inc. and I'll be on the hunt for a spare trigger group to have as backup.

Couple years ago had both my Berettas (682 and ASE Gold) go down at the provincials ,ended up shooting a borrowed Browning ,neither gave me any issue after that go figure..
