Non-Restriced Vs. Restricted Safety Course... Which one?

1) Check the course date with André Ras***** at 514-770-7057 because it is booked for the 25th of october on the official Info Secure site. ( www.fedecp.qc.ca and Montreal is in zone 16)
2) The costs for the courses including the exams are 67$ for the non-restricted and 74$ for the restricted. For a chalenge (exams only) they are 37$ for the non-restricted and 38$ for the restricted.
3) I would also suggest that you advise André by telephone before the course that you will be requiring the restricted chalenge so that he comes prepared with the proper exams and equipment.

Good luck

Thanks man! That's the info I wanted to know... I wonder if I have to pay extra for that though - not that it's a problem, but I just want to know how much $ I have to bring. Oh well, $150 should probably cover it all. ;)

As far as I can remeber Restricted one was 75$ or around and Non Restricted was 45$-50$ extra. Thats it thats all. Another secret for you: try to go for the exam at the end, when all others went (all people will go for exam one by one after in class course finished). The reason for you to go at the end is because only last guy will be able to get his result of the exam immideately (this is the Andre's rule :) ) All others who went before you will get the result by mail after aprox 3 weeks. However you still have to wait your paper with results for 3 weeks by mail in order to submit them for your RPAL. But atleast you gonna get your result immideately after exam and you do not need to worry did you pass it or not. And do not forget 2pcs of ID with you.

Good luck.

Allright guys, thanks again for all your help! I will call him tommorow and confirm everything... the non-restricted portion as well as the exact date... I sure as heck wouldn't want to arrive 1 day late! :runaway:

I am positive that the woman who took the info from me told me Sunday the 26th two or three times though... (wtf?) Anyway, I'll look into it!

Update: I tried calling the instructor (André) at the number above all day, but no one is answering... I get the voicemail service and it seems to belong to some guy with a greek first / last names... so I wonder if the number is even still good.

I resorted to calling the same number I initially did in order to book myself for the course, explained the situation and was told that the 25th of October is the french version of the course, followed by english on the 26th. I believe I spoke with the same woman that booked me on it last week and she claims that the fédération de la faune website must have an error (as it says that the english course is on the 25th). Besides that, I was told to bring extra $ in order to be permitted to pass the non-restricted course exam as well in the same day. So I'm all set... Can't wait to pass this thing and receive my RPAL. :)

P.S. Are there any decent & well priced pistol ranges in / around Montreal (preferably in or near the West Island)? Since I'll need to become a member before I can apply for the permit anyway, I might as well start looking now. Thanks!

Re: Phone #

That phone number (514)770-7057 I was given by Spiros as his contact # on the 26th of November, when taking CFSR/CRFSC and exams in Montreal.

Cheers,

Dariusz
