Update:
Gravel still has not received the replacement parts for my ACR and I still have a broken rifle in my possession. I am done wasting time with this issue and have requested that Questar refund me my money or replace the rifle with a brand new one in a timely fashion.
Questar said that this is against their policy and that they want to see the rifle before they make a decision. Fair enough.
All things considered, I think that if ever there was an exception to be made for their refund policy, this is it.
The facts:
1. Before placing my order with Questar, I phoned and talked to a sales person to confirm that the ACRs they were selling were current production rifles. They said yes.
2. When I received my ACR, it did not work correctly. Here is a list of issues that were noticed:
- Failure to feed when fired (looks like a cycling issue to me)
- Canted gas block (Looks misaligned to me)
- Gas block tapper pins look damaged and "hammered"
- Gas block holes look widened and damaged
- Barrel rubbing on heat shield inside hand guards
- Damaged firing pin retaining pin O-ring
- Damage at front of cocking handle slot
- Old style piston spring (round cross-section instead of square)
- Old style gas plug (.088 Sup Hole, angle cut front instead of rounded)
- Damage to barrel plunger
- Cocking handle is very loose
- Pistol grip storage falls out easily
3. Spoke to Bushmaster Rep at Gravel Agency, who went through these issues and assured me they are not normal and that my rifle was not current production.
I have a shipping label from Questar so I can send this thing back to them and they can make their decision from there.
What do you guys think? In light of everything and all the facts, do you think Questar should be responsible and refund me my money?
