Correct, the barrels are made for each at the time they are requested (they are not premade anywhere). Technically any smith with the proper shop can make you one.
I owned one before and they are cool... I am starting to get the urge to get one again as the price has really come down.

worth every penny.....I love mine....and I get funny looks from the hunters up here when I hike with it to my secret target spot in the valley (150 yard rangeish type place with a 40m vertical half circle cliff.....excellent and SAFE!)
Try Barry at 'Bits of Pieces' in Ricmond/Delta.
I went in and spoke to him at length about making a barrel for the Storm. He was all ready to do it and his price was much better than Ellwood Epps ($300'ish I think if I recall correctly - before shipping, etc.)

Why wouldn't you? It's yours to begin with! There is no law against owning the restricted barrel. You are not breaking any laws unless you re-install it and do not notify the CFO and have the firearm re-classified.Regards,
I've got one of the 'Ellwood Epp's' converted units in 9MM..

The cost includes the new barrel and labour...
The new gun is AWESOME...I didn't do a back to back accuracy test before and after, but this thing is a tackdriver out to 75yd. with WWB 115Gr
It seems like a lot to pay, but would be a better deal now that the price on the Storms has come down quite a bit...
If you want a great 3 gun carbine, and a great 'take anywhere' plinker with a full 10 rounds/mag at your disposal, it's pretty hard to beat.
I encourage everbody to try mine during our range days, and it's a crowdpleaser...even the crappy trigger is getting better with time, use, cleaning and grease.

Just a thought, but if there was a bunch of us that wanted this done, why don't we get together and contact epps. I'm sure we could get a discount if we got a bunch done at once. Or possibly contact the other gunsmith mentioned earlier in this thread and do the same thing.

FYI My IPhoto files are in limbo right now...hopefully sorted by tomorrow PM at which time I'll try and post some photos of my Storm.
Doug, at Epps, is willing to give you whatever you want in terms of barrel profile, length...as long as it's >18.5", and was adding flash hiders to taste!
It doesn't hurt to ask about a group conversion, but because each one is made from a blank, chambered, cut to profile, etc, I'm not sure there's going to be much 'wiggle room' for a deal.
