From the CFO again :
Q. Can i borrow a NR rifle with my quebec valid PAL
A. Yes you can it's not a quebec PAL it's a federal, canadian PAL
Q. How long can i keep the borrowed NR rifle
A. I don't know, nothing in the law mention this, as long as your PAL is valid i suppose
Q. What is the purpose of the quebec registry if i can borrow a rifle outside quebec for as long as my PAL is valid
A. I don't know sir, i'am here to apply the law, not to decide of it

4 day's ago when i called to know if i must register the rifle i just bought from ontario..... don't get me wrong please, i don't write this against marstar, i good friend of mine is working there and i always got service from them.... mabye they are not aware that they are not responsible to register for quebec customers.

Marstar was out of line registering on behalf of a customer. It is not the law, policy, or required.

BTW - I am a QC resident. I voluntarily registered a firearm recently. It took only a few minutes to verify and register over the phone. It was even easier than I expected.

xOra you are being harsh...this said I was not satisfied by the answer either.
I remember some congressional hearing broadcast about drones strike in the US targeting US citizen on US soil without due process. A Texas representative asked U.S. A.G. a very simple question to be answer by "yes" or "no". Guess what ? For 15 minutes or more, U.S A.G. kept circling around the question and answering nothing, even when being reminded by Texas rep. to answer by "yes" or "no".

It seems John is playing the same game.

That said, yes, I am picky.

OK PLEASE read this, I am typing it s l o w l y I am certain that some people out there will understand, MASTAR's policy is to bey the law at any given time, no more, no loess, how can I make any easier to understand ??
We do NOT make the laws,
we do NOT make the policies,
We do NOT write up the directives
In an efort to stay in business we have NO choice
John

I saw no law stating it was the dealers responsibility to register a quebec buyers firearm.

(This is the part where you cite the law to prove me wrong)

I think I'm just going to start talking down to you as well John.

Lets see who can win the biggest D*** award on CGN shall we?

Seriously though:

You ever notice your communication style illicits a pile of negative response? You ever notice how your competitors don't talk to people with this kind of attitude? You ever notice how things go much smoother on your competitor's boards?
We still have free speech so do as you like but as a business man, where is the financial incentive for condescending communication styles?
If the saying goes, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, would it not be more financially sound to simply be polite, non condescending or insulting and simply respond in professional, courteous and forthright manners, explaining all details in one go? You are on the defensive all the time, even when you shouldn't be.

I already know the answers to my questions, I just ask you since I am quite baffled by your desire to insinuate your potential customers are either too ignorant it would take too much time to set the record straight or too dumb to comprehend. This is the essence of how your communication comes across and why people are insulted by you.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm thick skinned, I'll survive your insinuation that I'm a bit s l o w so you have to type s l o w l y for me. In fact you can say anything you like to me, I'll just smile and respond. In the end, there is no logical or financial reason to follow the YAD principle in a niche market, so I guess I am just curious as to why you do it.

Jason

so, Marstar is telling us he is the only out of quebec dealer with tradex to have followed the law? NO OTHER BUSINESS OUTSIDE QUEBEC have registered non-restricted firearms after c-19.

(excepted for tradex)

xOra, I am the one who said I did not believe you. I am sorry. Please accept my apologies. I did not want to believe Marstar did it. I tell you in public you were right, I was wrong. Marstar have not done any public statement, but his silence speaks louder than words. Mastar: never again unless you have a good explanation, but I doubt.

So as residents of Quebec, are we still oblidged by law to have all our non-restricted firearms registered or is it now purely optional?

Copied from the CFP website -

Until further notice, due to a Court Order issued by the Quebec Superior Court, residents of Quebec are still required to register non-restricted firearms with the RCMP Canadian Firearms Program.

The case is not yet settled.

this was BEFORE quebec lost against canada and this is not true until quebec won against canada in supreme court

Let's just hope this comes to an end for good sooner than later! The injunction is still in effect until all appeals are settled.
