Non restricted MPX **Range report and pics**

It was restricted not due to it being a pistol, so just send it to a qualified gunsmith who offers barrel work and re-verifying service.
Many use Herron Arms Ian, he did my ACR.

How does that work though? Do you need to carry around a piece of paper that says it was modified to NR?

No, once it has been reclassified to non restricted if the RCMP (or your local police) run the serial number and make/model it comes up blank, and if it doesn't come up as restricted or prohibited it must be non restricted.
My ACR was simple to have reclassified, the verifier filled out the paperwork and a couple months later the CFO couldn't find my serial number in their records anymore and it was done.

What's the paper process involved with going NR does Herron do it or do you have to call cfo?

In this case if you have Herron take care of it they will do all the paperwork but I took my rifle to a verifier after the work was done and had him help me do the paperwork for a small fee.

I finally got to handle the pistol version and I was very impressed. Unfortunately I can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on a pistol caliber carbine. I've owned a few of them in the past and I always get bored of them and realize that if you're going to have something like this you may as well have something with a cartridge that can actually do something and then they get sold.
Another thing that really turned me off of it is that I was told by the salesman that spare magazines are $150 each. That's absolutely ridiculous for a magazine.

Hence why I still run a single (very poorly pinned) mag. I also need to re-pin it. The fifth round is jammed so tight the bolt doesn't have enough force to go into battery. So I run a single 4 round mag :bangHead:

Other than that, this gun is a dream to shoot with the long barrel. Not that I ever recommend shooting without hearing protection, but if a target of opportunity such as a bunny or a squirrel happens upon you, it does not make your ears ring. In fact it is quite pleasant by shooting standards. I would like to get a proper decibel metre and see how loud it actually is, but I think we all know that isn't going to actually happen $$$
