Norc 1911 renovation, new finish complete.

Here's what I did to it
panal cut to get rid of factory serrations then put in some SVI'ish ones
flat-topped slide
installed STI front and rear sites
beveled the mag well
undercut the trigger guard
installed STI beaver tail
trigger and mainspring housing are STI
reshaped the hammer and polished up the hammer/sear/disconnector engagement faces
grips are houge
slide finish is black oxide,great for sandblasted surfaces not so great for polished ones.
the frame is just sandblasted and then dunked in rust prevention oil.

How did you machine the serations?

roated the vise 10 degress on the bridgeport and used the front of the factory serations as my zero reference.

If the slide is coated with the same finish as the frame, the gun will look much better and "in harmony"...

All you have to do is remove the "Made in China" roll mark and you are about done. I like the two-tone look.

Gun runs like a raped ape with Winchester white box and CCI Blazer 115's, I haven't ran anything else through it yet.
There is no coating on the frame, its just bare metal that I wiped done with some anti rust stuff. I forgot about the made in chine stamping untill I saw the picture. It doesn't bug me enough yet to bench it out and reblast the frame. Thumb safety is OEM, I just had to file the back edge to blend into the frame/beaver tail.

no, you have to blend the STI one in to the frame, the grip is higher up

OCT 24, re-sandblasted everything and ordered some Radocy Parkerizing from PJ's gun care. Added a S&A magwell and removed a bit more form under the trigger guard.
