Norc 8.5 Tube fed (Pics/Vids! Range report!)

I believe if you replace it with the 12inch LOP, the shotgun will become restricted.
On the SFRC website it said it has 27 1/8 inch overall length. And the standard stock is 14 inch I believe.
But again, I might be wrong.

Mine is a DLASK model 870, and with the Hogue short LOP stock on it, it measures out to 27" almost exactly. Perfect!

I also added a GG&G sling plate, and that added another 1/4" or so, just to be safe.

Nice looking rig. I too have a 6.5" DLASK but my forend looks different from yours. Did you do something custom there?

Mines an 8.5, and no, DLASK sent it with a hideous pump on it, that are rails on either side, and a very odd strap on the other side. I cut the strap off, and put rail covers on, so as to not cut up my hands when using it. Other than that, its a neat rig.

I hit the range today, put 50 shells and 10 slugs through it. Didn't have a single issue, did very well ejecting the cheapo winchester low "brass" shells that can stick.

I did a quick pattern at 5, 10 and 15M. The optimum range seems to be 10M. I need to get a hang of bead placement, its easy to shoot high. Hopefully this will be improve with the XS big dot.

Check out the spread at 50M. (watch in HD)

I shot some brenneke slugs at 15M. I wish I had a couple boxes of slugs today to really get the hang of it.

I used my last slug to take a 25M shot at this large plastic container. I used a can for a reference point for aim. I aimed at the top part of the can:

I hit right where I was aiming, it jammed the can into the plastic. :D

One thing to watch out for is the "hand guard" on the forend. It can smash your index finger. Still, it's not that bad and if you adjust your grip it's no problem.

So far I am very happy with it. Tons of fun to shoot. :dancingbanana:

you will love the xs sights....i put it on mine..it's the best sight .....

also if you take a tac-star 6 shot side saddle, and cut the holder back to 4 rounds..the extra that sticks forward can be modified to install the rail that came for the top on the side....for light..whatever. won't interfere with slide action (hand passes by light with out any interference). also put a cheap little laser on it...opened it up filled it with non-conductive silicone...now it holds zero and is ressistant to recoil

great little gun...have had no problems at all :)

Nice work on the banded sight Slim! I poached your photo and put it in the other 8.5" sight option thread..... Is it possible to install it further forward over the bead? Did you modify the band?

Very nice pics and great video. Looks like a good performer. The 2+1 shell capacity is a deal breaker for me, I'd personally go for a 12.5"
Glad you're having fun. Keep at it.

You can get 3 in there by removing the spring holder ratchet piece but its tight.....I agree they should have made it a hair longer so 3 shells could fit in the tube easily.

I think I'm leaning towards magpul SGA. If I can swing it I'll be ordering it next week.

Here's a good look at one, and a look at installation.

the XS banded sight is as far ahead as you can put it because of the barrel keeper at front where it attaches to tube...and there is no room in front of it, but its a very accurate sight with slugs...and the tritium is very good in dark. The band was not modified, you just have to bend it over the barrell... it works great.

the XS sight is hands down awesome on the shotty....you will not regret it at all if you get it.....also the knoxx stock is great, but if i were to go back.....i would get the knoxx NRS (non-recoil reduction-fixed)....the recoil knoxx stock works great for recoil reduction, but there is more muzzle jump, so if recoil is not a problem for you get the knoxx NRS...and its about 50.00 cheaper than the other :)

Going to try to hit the range tomorrow. Went to walmart to grab some shells, discovered bulk packs come in #4. This is a GREAT deal at $32/100. I usually don't even look at the bulk packs because they were all #8 before. Happy.

75 shells down the tube today. She's buttery smooth. I did some smoothing out of the action bars. I have had NO problems whatsoever with rounds sticking in the chamber. Really happy with this shotgun. :D

i was told the proper way to measure length is to place gun straight up against wall...measure from floor to highest point...

that's how i read it so if i am wrong , could somebody please correct me... :)

OAL is the longest straight line measurement.

It might be that the longest straight line measurement will be found when measuring in the way you describe. On most rifles and shotguns, the longest straight line dimention will be found from the tip of the butt stock at the bottom to the top forward edge of the barrel.
