Norc 8.5 Tube fed (Pics/Vids! Range report!)

Anyone try installing a different 870 forend on these things? Was wondering about fitment issues due to this being a copy.

Thinking of putting a Magpul MOE forend but due to the increased length, not sure if it will cause any issues on a 8.5" barrel...

it is not a standard fore end, it is shortened. cant fit a magpul unless you cut it

Here's a comparison pic with my Fabarm Martial Pro Forces 14"

Fabarm 32.625" oal @ 6lb 6.2oz , Norc 27.5" oal @ 6lb 1.5oz

The fabarm is just a hair longer and a much nicer shotgun...

so lets just say.. hypothetically speaking.. that if a guy were to purchase this shotgun, and before leaving the gun shop, he got the gunsmith to throw on a pistol grip/folding stock on. making the total length of gun 26 3/4", and 19" when folded up. Still non-restricted? does the folded measurement count or the extended measurement?

Has to come manufactured that way apparently. I think that's how the Ranch Hands got through. Cannot be modified.

No longer non-restricted if it is rendered sub-26" OAL by means of folding. Read the definitions in section 3 of the criminal code of canada.

Affirmative. The 26" OAL has to be taken with the stock (if collapsible and/or telescopic) at the shortest setting. If it falls short of 26" , then you have definitely broken the law.

Thanks a lot for the reply guys, very helpful.

Have another quick question. Are these full, IC or M choked? I read that some of you guys have ripped a few slugs through them.. Im thinking of getting one for out in the bush, and would like to use slugs if need be. How does a guy tell what size choke it is, if there are no markings?

No choke on them I believe, Just cylinder bore. I'm certain I'll be corrected if wrong.

correct no choke meaning target loads really open up... the bead goes right through the barrel you can see it inside the barrel

If it folds and covers the trigger then its messured unfolded however if you can fire it with the stock folded up you messure it folded up. So if it covers the trigger and is over 26 unfolded it's fine if you can shoot it while folded that's a no no.

Any plans on getting the mag fed?

How do you like the Magpul stock vs the Fabarm stock?

no plans on getting a magfed. Too bulky for my liking. As for the SGA stock, it's almost like a pistol grip stock; with its very pronounced grip angle it feels great. Short LOP without punching self in the nose. I really like it. Fabarm is still my #1 though.

No choke you shoot slugs you get punched in the face when you shoot it

Thanks for your honesty, I was a bit concerned to what would happen with such a short barrel, feeded with slugs. Baring in mind the main attraction for this 8.5'' is for bear defense or whatever, at a hefty 6lbs+ it is questionable if it is indeed a good alternative compared to the single shot Backpacker or the Outlaw.

Does anyone know what is the weight of the backpacker and outlaw by any chance? Thanks.
