I installed a tiny 2.5x20 Simmons deerfield shothun scope on a new-to-me Norc JW15 compact (13" barrel) in high see thru rings and went to the range. After getting on paper at 25yds with the rain getting heavier, I set up a 2" square targ dot at a liitle over 50yds and shot this first group over a makeshift front rest of 2x4s stacked and a hunters seat cushion. I packed it in after that as it was an all out down pour by then - that was good enough for a start. Used Win Dynapoint Gt ammo. I think I'm going to like this little shooter.

As to the factory irons, the front sight needs to be ground down about .030" to .070" by my calculations. As issued it's printing, with standard ammo, 3" low at 25yds with the rear elevator set in its highest notch. I may install a peep so won't grind it down until I decide about that.

I've found the CCI LR HP to be the best for accuracy in my Backpacker. Trigger is creepy, but reminds me of the old Chinese Model 61 air rifle I shot for years. Felt very familiar the first time I shot it!

Every one of em...except maybe (but probly still) the top one would be dinner :) glad she shoots nice...always had a fondness for Norc.

Great tip but I think (???) CCI make many LR HP versions - what particlar one worked 4you please?

I'll maybe post a pic of my rifle later if I get out shooting again with my camera today. It's pretty stupid looking right now with the nose bleed high "see thrus" - which are temporary.

If you do go peep sight route let us know ...
I already put a peep on my Stevens backpacker in 22 magnum which worked very well IMO. But would try something a little different with the Norc I think. Steve's Gunz has a ready made peep for the JW15 but it looks a bit big and clunky to me and spendy - nice quality though. Thinking about a simple drift adjustable peep in a dovetail cut - no frills - we'll see.

Thanks I'll try some of those.

Pic of my JW-15 compact as mentioned above - complete with goofy temporary see thru mounts.

Looks good with that scope (reticle type?). Have one with a 1.5-4.5x32 Bushnell installed.....really like the small rifle, groups 1/2inch at 50m. Took 5 Grouse with it over the past two weeks.

Are they a CZ copy?
Yes, and a lot of CZ parts are supposed to fit in them - like steel magazines - though I've never tried it myself. However there are differences like a standard 3/8" scope dovetail instead of an European 11mm.

Crappy picture but here is that same Simmons 2.5x scope now mounted lower where it should be. The bolt handle clearance won't permit much lower. Scope has 5"-6" eye relief ( just whats needed for such a heavy kicker):)
