Howdy, I have been scrolling through 100's of old posts here looking for some feed back on the Norinco 1911's. I may be just missing posts about them, so I thought i would ask here.
Any feed back on them? There always seems to be a lot of them for sale so does that means they don't stand up to a little heavy usage and break down continually or ?
The selling prices are actually not bad compared to the name brand models but before I make an offer on any I would like to know a little more about them. Thanks Later

People just get bored of them, just like most other guns out there.
I've fired one a couple of times; goes bang when you pull the trigger.
Pretty standard fare.

Got one on trade, it was tweaked by someone and love it.

Solid, basic and goes bang with every trigger pull.

Likely will not leave the collection as everyone needs a 1911

I'd call up Gunnar at Armco for one of his tweaked/tuned Norcs and be done with it :D

You are not going to get a better value in an autoloader at $350, period. They are reliable out of the box and a great start for a project gun. Certainly a great way to get into the 1911 platform.

Look in the Pistols & Revolvers forum, search on "norinco" and you should get pages of threads.

As said, they are a great value and perform very well. I have an NP-29 and a NP-34 and will not be selling either anytime soon.

Here is the 411 on Norinco. The Norinco 1911 is basically bulletproof, it has a forged frame that is super strong the rest of the pistol is also. rock solid

The bad: It says "Made in China" and "Exported by Norinco" on it. If you can get past that they will never let you down.

You can further improve them with a trigger job and some better quality mags.

Lil bit of time making them pretty goes a long way.

I'm currently working on second one.

Next slow boat from china has one with my name on it.
My friends don't believe me when I tell them being a gun owner is all patience and zen.

If you did a proper search of the handgun forum it's hard to believe that you didn't get a swamp load of old threads to read.

Hint: I noticed that the Advanced Search screen by default comes up with the time parameter being one week and newer. Before you hit the Search Now button change the "newer" to "older". When I search on "norinco 1911" with that setting 6 pages of thread listings pop up. That should be enough to answer any questions you may have. And also do a search for "norc 1911" since a lot of folks shorten the name to that.

The Norkie 1911 is the best value in a 1911 pistol. No issues with mine, and I had Colts and Springfield Armory in the past as well.

For $350, you get a forged steel frame and slide, beavertail, ring hammer, useable sights, stiff but decent trigger. Personally, I can live with this basic pistol.

For a minimal premium, buy an ARMCO-tuned Norkie. Guaranteed satisfaction.

Highly recommended, whether for a 1st 1911 pistol or your last.
