Where did you get the stainless steel one. Is it norinco?

It took 45 days (ha!) from ordering to having it in my hands. Probably the longest vendor purchase I've ever had, but then again I prepared myself for it when I jumped on the deal. Not saying they couldn't have sped it up (it took 20 days from my card being charged to when the transfer was initiated... ), as they definitely could have, but I'm hoping that they've learned from this experience and will be better prepared next time when they have a smoking deal like this again.

Here it is with its stainless steel sibling

For the price I'm pretty content with the fit & finish. Seems to manual cycle pretty well after taking it apart and cleaning it. I'm going to shoot a box of ammo for test firing and probably put it up on EE... assuming I don't fall in love with it afterwards ;)

Funny I was going to call the CFC today and ask about the transfer (ordered on April 23rd). Before I got a chance my door bell rang and there was Canpar. I Honestly never though it would take this long but I peeked in the box and all is forgiven. The gun looks great. Can't wait to get it unpacked and cleaned up. Thanks CanAm for the great deal. If I have only one complaint maybe don't process payment until you are ready to start the transfers. From that point its on the CFO and the delay is nothing to do with you guys. Again I am a very happy customer who is waiting for the next great deal :).

Thanks NoBoZoS. I appreciate the feedback. I think I may have seen the same ones on Ebay - a little too pricey for me! I've also read a thread on some DIY solutions but was afraid it would compromise the integrity of the can. Oh well, still waiting to hear from CanAm on this. But in regards to my norc, I finally got around to cleaning her up -a few sharp edges and minor scratches but all in all, looks great. A wonderful deal. Oh, and to those who have received cracked grips if you wanna PM me your info, I'll send you mine.

Cheers.

It could be that I just got a bad one...who knows....I ordered the PA60 box....it may fit better on the regular 50cal ammo box.
I saw a really great ammo box lock on Ebay...made in Canada...but it was like $30.00US +ship...really for $10 it at least appears to be secured.....as secure as any ammo can be secure.

Damn I think I'm gonna miss the boat on this one still waiting on my RPAL! Wicked deal though il definitely pick one up if its still available when my RPAL comes early next month

Very Impressive CanAmmo! 2346 posts and 235 pages, and you can still order 50 of the combos if you like!

I'm just about to pull the trigger on a third combo, I am very impressed with my first combo :)

Anyone getting three combos or ordered three of these combos?

I ordered 3, 2 on the opening day then another a week later.

I have received all 3.

One in the factory supplied grease, one in factory issued shape after a polish and a good going over and one with a heavy addition of Wilson and Chip McCormick parts!

Mine was waiting for me after work yesterday, luckily someone was home to sign for it, had a little trouble with Canpar on my last package delivered by them. Cleaned and oiled last night and looks pretty good! New grips should be here any day, which is good because mine were broken. Only a few very very slight scratches and tight enough slide fit. Sounds a little rough when you rack the slide, but I'm guessing that should smooth out after a few hundred rounds or so, and I've got plenty!
Not to rub it in or anything but this was actually a pretty reasonable, if not speedy, transaction. Payment processing was the longest wait, which seemed a bit odd being as I paid by direct transfer, but I guess I'm no expert on how these things are processed. Ordered May 20, paid May 21, payment processed May 30, notice of transfer initiation June 5 - and here's the amazing part thanks to both CFO and CanAm - Approved June 6 and shipped June 7! A grand total of 21 days from ordering until I had it in my hands. All in all I'm pretty happy, almost makes me want a second...
Thanks for the great deal CanAm!

Very Nice! I have ordered 2 but will order another tonight! My first one came in a sealed bag, very little grease and easy to clean. Still have not received the second one yet!

Norc 1911A1 Range Report

Got a chance to shoot the Norc today. Cleaned her up from the packing grease and took her to the range.

1) Sights are not sighted in, at 10 meters, pattern was about 6-8" left of aim point. Will have to adjust the rear sight a little bit.
2) Trigger is heavy, much heavier than I am used to and seems gritty.
3) The magazines supplied seemed cheap and cheezey, especially when put next to Wilson Combat mags or Remington Mags. They feel cheap too, but function great.
4) Fired 100 rounds of Norc .45, and the gun did not miss a beat. No failures of any type using stock magazines or Remington Magazines.

Overall, I am very happy with the 1911A1, especially considering the price and the fact that it made it 100 rounds without any failures of any type.

Picture below, mags pictured are Remington Magazines, not quite done shooting the ammo!

Order Placed April 25th.
Received Order today in the mail - June 12th.
still waiting on the ammo.... it's slated to arrive later this week..... hopefully!

took the gun right down, RIGHT DOWN.
ive never done that before, was kinda fun!
put it in a ice cream bucket full of scolding hot water and some grease fighting dish soap for a hour.
scrubbed it with a tooth brush and rinsed off.

then laid out all the pieces and sprayed with G-96 gun treatment.
put a touch of G-96 oil on the friction points.
re-assembled.
gun runs flawlessly.

im very impressed!
i checked it against the 2x two color (police issue) Norc 45's i picked up years ago.
not as heavy and maybe just a touch cheaper then they are.

only thing i dont like about the gun is the grips.
cheapest plastic i have ever seen.
one grip actually fell apart when i was taking them off.
looks like they torked it down too tight at the factory and cracked it when putting it on.

no worries, Hogue in the mail!

overall very happy with the purchase.
