CanAm said they were closing down their web site recently for a few hours. I found the tracking function didn't work shortly after that for a while. It seems their website is down right now. Maybe some programmer boogered it up????
 
Range again last night to let the brother in law fire a pistol for te first time. He now wants an RPAL. Have 200 rounds thru the gun so far and not one issue at all. Also my wood grips showed up today!
 
To those that have this exact model (still waiting on mine), what grips should I look for to fit it?
Does it have ambidextrous safety? How many inches between the screw holes? Will grips with a rounded bottom (not flat and angled) fit this fine?

I've shot 300 rounds through this gun and its been 100% reliable..and pretty accurate for me as well. I'm very happy with it, but I bought some Brownells brand mags for it and they don't lock the slide back. Anyone have any idea why that would be? The original mags (which work great) have a little ledge on them that catches on the inside of the slide stop the new mags don't see to have anything to catch the slide stop on the inside. Maybe someone more experienced with 1911's can enlighten me.

I don't have one, yet... But it says "1911-A1" in a bunch of places on this thread.
You can get grips for a 1911A1 in a lot of places but it's all the same pattern.
 
Got home yesterday, and found a missed delivery notice from CANPAR.
Got the shipping notice today from Canada Ammo.
Hopefully catch them today.

purchased april 25, transfer started may 21, today got bored, called the surrey cfo office and the transfer hadn't been yet approved, they approved over the phone, faxed canada ammo the approval, mailed me my registration.... yep guys... if you're seriously still waiting, just call the cfo and it'll seriously speed things up. thanks again for this awesome deal canada ammo!
 
Still waiting. Talked to ontario CFO on Monday said i was approved. Tried contacting canam for them to ship, no response or feedback. Frustrating not having any notice of where the item is. Been waiting since may 11 without any contact with canam. Just looking for a little customer support thats all.

safety is NOT ambi,
standard grips work fine

I tried to order one this afternoon and received the same message. No answer on the phone, but I left a message. Hopefully I can get my hands on a combo!!
 
Ordered 6 May, approved 10 June and proof emailed to CanAm. I received an email from CanAm customer service asking me to confirm some info with the CFC for a third time. I called them and they had no idea what I was talking about and told me the transfer was already approved. Order #3958201. What is going on?

I did the same thing. Got approved but they said something else needed to be done at miramichi that takes a few days. What else is there once CFO approves it?
 
I'm getting that back-of-the-neck tingle that is suspecting some delaying tactics on CanAm's part, particularly with the silence on replies to emails and not taking phone calls (hopefully it's because they are busy packing up shipments, lol). Hope I'm completely out in left field. I think they bit off a little more than they could chew with this offer (business traffic wise). If we all get our purchases I suspect almost all will eventually be forgiven but a tarnished reputation can linger for a while.
