Ordered on the 25th just got this.....

Order Status Updated

We have initiated a transfer to you through the CFC and are awaiting approval before shipping the product to you.

We appreciate your patience during this process.

Happy Happy Joy Joy........

Wow
This special started on April 23 & they are only starting transfers from orders received on April 25 & it is now May 19 ????

Doesn't seem like chronological order either as my payment was processed on 28th and I've yet to get notice of transfer initiated.

Me too. I ordered on the 23, payment processed on the 5, and nothing yet. I'm all for waiting because of a great deal but they should be processing first ordered, first shipped.

THNAK YOU!!! :). I'm going to start referencing your post every time some "I need instant gratifcation" guy comes on here whining about how long it takes, and how CANAM 'has had my money' for so long and hasn't updated / that / that / the other thing, and so on, and so on, and so on.

So fed up with people who can't accept reality...

Honestly I hope the gun I purchased locally shows up after the norinco. It would give me much pleasure to explain to them the situation and infrom them Ill be buying ALL my related gear online from now on.
The local shop told me it would take 2 days to arrive, 3 weeks later they tell me its typical for them to say 2 days and have it take a month. Being swindled is not my style. Had they told me upfront it would take a month they could have easily upsold me on a different pistol setup.
I appreciate the straightforwardness of this deal, whether it be circumstantial (long wait due to volume) or not.
Now, back to waiting patiently!
Eric.

I have been waiting quietly since placing my order on the 27th. I have had zero updates when I check on the Canada Ammo website and zero emails. To be honest I am starting to get annoyed. I can understand they are busy but I am now into my 4th week and its still not with the CFO. Sorry but thats pathetic at best! A week or two at the most would have been reasonable but this is not! I will be calling Canada Ammo Tuesday

You missed the obvious point being they had the resources to process the payment, but NOT to initiate transfer.

All good business upon processing payment must initiate the process of getting the product to the customer which in this case is initiate transfer.

My credit card posted the transaction on Apr 30th, get CanAm email CFC transfer started 17 calendar (13 business) days later; TOO LONG.

Complaint is NOT they are busy, but that they are only busy to process order but NOT too busy to process payment.
Meh, for the 1911/amm deal and what I got, I'm extremely happy. The three week wait was definitely worth it. I think it is reasonable to cut a vendor some slack, especially when getting such stupendous deals that Canada Ammo is known for. Even if I had to wait at six weeks (because when I ordered I told myself not to expect it sooner than that - playing my own psych game so I won't be dissappointed:p) I'd be clicking my heels about the great deal. While you wait, just go shoot some of your other guns and save more money for the next great deal.:)

great someone else caught the idea!! :) ....we dont care if they are busy busy.. they have the money and they could be bankrupt in the same minute.. do what people ask...process ASAP.. just do it ! there is no "cut any slack" ... run the business the way it should..

to futher, buyers can ask to start transfer with thier CFO,, in earlier threads CA deemed this to hard.. well think of it this way.. your next order ask for thier business license number and the serial number and what else it takes to start your transfer. submit the info to your respect CFO ( not to new Brunswick)and the transfer process starts immediately.. let them worry and explain why the item has not been processed.. JUST saying of course! dont shoot the messager.. this will speed up tranferrS !!!

In the NORMAL retail environment, these wait times would be unreasonable. In the FIREARMS retail environment... they are actually good. I sent $1400 to another retailer for a gun they said would arrive in one week. 6 weeks later I dont have the gun (its an NR so there is no transfer) and I didnt get one update... I had to call myself to get info. IMO, this situation isnt ideal, but isnt as bad as many and those upset by it should do what anyone upset with any transaction should do, ask for your money back, shut your mouth and go buy elsewhere. The simple fact that your whining and complaining in this thread proves you REALIZE its a deal good enough to wait for.

People need to relax some.

What exactly do you want CanAm to do? If they don't have many employees and are processing at their maximum speed (i have no doubt they *want* to get these guns to people) then what should they do when demand out paces their ability to promptly (i.e. within a few days) initiate a transfer.

Would you like them to have put out these deal - put it on hold after 6 hours, process, 3 days later open the deal for a 4 hour window, close the sale, process, etc. They can only process so fast - their options are to CEASE ALL SALES of all products when they get a certain amount of orders or to continue like this.

Can you imagine online shopping like that where you went to order things online and you had to check back every few hours to see if they had a sales window open - the rest of the time you got a "sorry orders are maxed - please check back".

The price point CanAm is selling at allows them to have so many employees and expand so much.

The one thing I would suggest is priority processing. Charge $25 per order for priority and hire an extra person or two to do those orders. No different than how everything else in the world works - the place with the best priced gun can be out of stock where the higher priced place can have stock - you are paying a premium to get it now

I totally agree . I can see a bit of a delay from when you place the order & when order is processed & payment taken .
But when they process the order & take the money WTF don't they start the transfer at the same time ??????? .

First time handgun owners are likely the ones getting upset.
They'll have matured by the time theirs gets to them, and all will be well.;)

That's the loser attitude that guarantees poor service.

Recall everyone complained about the previous delay in processing. I suggested to CanAm to add a line to their Main page below the "Welcome..." msg and guess what, they took the advice to resolve that problem with the "We apologize for any delay ..." msg, smart of them to take good advice.

Smart business will see taking payment immediately but take unreasonably time to process the order is bad customer service.

Telling folks to NOT complaint about bad customer service, nor to make recommendations for improvement but rather to avoid the business is BAD advice. And from a MOD, WOW :(

What's next, if you don't like the gun laws don't shoot, take up golf, abandon firearms altogether. Make recommendations to improve things instead of sticking your head in the sand.

Once again the advice to CanAm is if you have the time to process payment you have time to start the transfer process, both must go hand in hand for good customer service. Too busy to transfer, do them in batches.

Perhaps they need to once again update the msg to "Payment will be processed immediately, processing your order will take an abnormal amount of time."

Said it perfectly!
