Today was my first post about the waiting. When they take my money weeks ago but don't process my order, Thats poor customer service and I think that gives me the right to complain as a paid customer! Sorry to the brown noses!

That's the loser attitude that guarantees poor service.

Recall everyone complained about the previous delay in processing. I suggested to CanAm to add a line to their Main page below the "Welcome..." msg and guess what, they took the advice to resolve that problem with the "We apologize for any delay ..." msg, smart of them to take good advice.

Smart business will see taking payment immediately but take unreasonably time to process the order is bad customer service.

Telling folks to NOT complaint about bad customer service, nor to make recommendations for improvement but rather to avoid the business is BAD advice. And from a MOD, WOW :(

What's next, if you don't like the gun laws don't shoot, take up golf, abandon firearms altogether. Make recommendations to improve things instead of sticking your head in the sand.

Once again the advice to CanAm is if you have the time to process payment you have time to start the transfer process, both must go hand in hand for good customer service. Too busy to transfer, do them in batches.

Perhaps they need to once again update the msg to "Payment will be processed immediately, processing your order will take an abnormal amount of time."
So says the FNG........ :p

I'll say it again- if some of you are upset with your purchase, feel free to cancel it on behalf of other CGNers.....

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this was probably a sarcastic comment. With the underlying meaning that if others cancel their orders, he and the people waiting patiently will get theirs processed and shipped faster.

Also I've had mine for about 2 weeks now but I've been stuck up at work while it sits in my safe at home. Pretty sure the unboxing will be the same as the rest. Anyone have a 'go to solution" for cleaning the grease off these things or can i just take it apart and wipe it down with WD40? Im new to guns and this will be my first Norinco but not my first 1911 .45, I got a little too personal with my Ruger SR1911 one night and ended up with the thing in pieces on my table, so I am confident I can get it all apart and back together fine. I've googled it and seen everything from wd40 to brake cleaner to a hair dryer being used, I'm just wondering what your guys opinions were.

I'm sure it takes less time to take a payment via emt or credit card than it takes to get someone to go to the warehouse, grab a gun, verify the serial number, and then call the cfo to start the transfer process. Another thing to think about is the transfer might be started a couple days before you get the email letting you know about it as well. As far as long waits being normal in the firearm industry, I ordered a $6000 rifle in November of last year and didn't get it until middle of May. Just be patient and shoot some other guns while waiting. I ordered on April 23, and transfer was started May 8. For a company that only has a couple employees to have this kind of order volume, is probably a bit unusual.

Let's see if they ban me for giving the MOD heck.

As for cleaning I disassembled my NP29, dunk all metal parts in a bucket of paint thinner, came back half hour later, got out the air gun to spray it clean. oil and shoot. NORC 1911s are easy to dis/reassemble.

As for this 1911 the cosmo is staying on and will be stored along with the ammo. I ordered the combo as a spare so I have ZERO urgency in getting it. Patiently waiting for the T97. NOW that is a LONG wait.

Ok guys I don't want to ruffle any feathers or say I have the biggest dink here. But reading this thread from day one or page one what ever your prefer. I made the mistake of waiting till May 2nd to order and It looks like its going to be a waiting game. To me I really don't care I have other guns to shoot, other #### to watch and my wife has a long list of yard work for me to complete. If it takes a few weeks or months for me to get my gun well its going to take that time.

I think I read somewhere that they had to call it in one gun at a time, not a whole wack of them in one go. Since they aren't the only gun store in Canada im sure that they have been put on hold a few times. Lets just say that they could get maybe 20 to 30 guns a day processed at a time and when this deal came out till now they have sold maybe 500 guns or maybe 1000 who really knows. I don't know how many people they have on staff but from what I have seen on here its small. Plus they have a store to run as well. There's coffee breaks and lunch breaks and if you got a great boss there could be a nap break in there as well. Also I have read that some guys are getting update on Sunday's. These guys are working Sunday's do you want to work on a Sunday I sure as hell don't but they are to get guns out the door.

So we are going to have to wait longer times, to those that are crying/complaining that they don't have theirs after 3 weeks, that they took your money and you have nothing to show for it. That you are going to call and cancel your order. I ask you this Do you think that is going to really going to help you get your way? are you six? Do you think by stomping your feet and throwing you hands up in the air is going to get you gun quicker? No guys it wont by cancelling your order isn't going to help you or make you feel any better. Just the guy that ordered after you.

Things take time, better things take even more. I really don't expect to see mine till June if im lucky until then ill shoot my other guns or watch drama unfold here in this post. Hell I waited 7 1/2 months to come home and see my family and what the plot line of "Lost" really was. I am sure I can wait a few months to wrap my hands around 1911. Maybe ill order another one if someone cancels theirs.

Again not trying to cause a fight, just to make a point. Cheers

If Canam had more employees to ship their product faster, do you really think you would get a case of 1000rds AND a gun for 500$

I think not.

Thanks Canam for bringing these fine guns at a ridiculous price. Don't worry, I'll wait. Got plenty in the safe anyway. And after all, Its not like it was a 3000$ Tavor.

If mine wasn't shipped already I would vote to put cdnsoldier and all military at the top of the list for processing and shipping, also as I and kalashnikov said, more employees = higher overhead= higher prices! It will be exactly a month for me to get mine and I ordered on the 23rd, early no big deal. I waited almost a year for a S&W 1911 for $1400. The same for some measly .44 russian casings! It is what it is. If you want faster service, go to your local gun store or other sites here and pay at least double, and you willl still wait!

I waited more than a year (one year one month) for the S&W 1911 anny, I was one of the original 10 from SFRC, Ryan charged us when item shipped, not order time, plus gave me original price, not the new price.

Too bad you folks just don't get it. It is NOT the wait time, it is the disconnect between payment and order processing that is NOT accepted anywhere else but in the suppressed firearm community.

Couldn't have said it better myself :D
