Hey I was wondering everyone that has ordered replacement grips if you can send me a link in a PM. I was looking at some on ebay but said that they cant deliver to Canada now unless I read that wrong. But maybe you guys can direct me to another place.

Lots of sellers of 1911 grips on E-Bay, ship to Canada. Some for free!

Both my grips were cracked, and broke the minute I loosened the screws. I'm also curious to hear more about replacement grips from those of you who ordered them from Ebay. I know the gun was a GREAT deal, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time that 10-20% of the gun's value would need to be spent ASAP on replacement grips...............

Look under 1911 grips, on E-Bay, and it will limit your seach to 4 or 5 pages. Lots to choose from.
You can plan on spending the 10-20%, though. After all, that's only 17 to 34 bucks(of $170).
I haven't seen a Norinco yet, that didn't need the stock grips replaced, cracked or not.:)

Got my grips anxiously waiting.......

Nice to see y'all started to receive your 1911s. If anyone here will be upgrading theirs, I would be interested in possibly purchasing/trading the stock short trigger and thumb safety for best price. Let me know!

Ok so I boiled off the cosmoline and cleaned it with hoppe's and then oiled it down. Seems to be a nice even color. The front sight is missing the white inside the lil hole. Trigger is nice enough. The plunger for the thumb safety seems stiff but it all works pretty good. Slide moves decent but a bit gritty. May have to file a bit here and there. Will hopefully take it out tom and put 3 or 4 boxes through it. See what happens.

Shipped one month after original order! Not bad at all. Expected delivery is June 4th. Beautiful!

They also initiated the transfer for my other two orders... things are moving nicely.

Thanks CanAm!!

Hey guys,

I'll post them in the EE pistol forums as well, but I purchased some hogue grips for the 1911, then had to cancel my order for the pistol. PM me if anyone is interested in the grips.

New, in the box. I've got one with the finger grooves and one exact replacement for what is on the 1911-A1. I'm in Calgary.

Well 30 minutes in the ultrasonic cleaner and got err lubed up.

Feels quite nice.

I was thinking of ordering a 1911 grip from DX. You can get a plastic wrap-around one for $13, or a wood one for $25.

Chris said he'd ship out a new set of rubber grips. I was digging around and stumbled across the original rubber grips I got from my first 1911 4 years back. Oh well - never hurts to have spares.
