Were you tracking the order? Was delivery attempted before it was expected to arrive, or were they bang on with their estimation? When did yours ship?
 
canpar says it will be delivered tommorow,

but the thai grips just arrived... so the thai tug boat beat the cfo+canpar

so no the faux pearl grips and the mags i ordered are just sitting there, hopefully canpar gets here early in the morning so I can take it out to the range.
 
Well I just signed for mine from Canpar. I have not taken it out of the plastic but on what I can see it appears to be in good shape. No cracked handles. Rear of slide seems evenly machined. Seems to be exactly what and worth what I paid so far.Now to open the heavy package and see what's inside :)

The dealer has a pistol sitting on the shelf for 4 weeks and hasn't got approval to ship to a customer in bc. I just wanted to maybe alleviate the anxiety of when you will get your email. Cheers

Transfer started May 21st.
Shipped May 28th.
Expected delivery June 4th to Ontario
Waiting for delivery seems like the most stressful part especially knowing I will be at work when they attempt to deliver!
Hope the paper work gets here fast.

Just noticed I technically will have waited April, May, and June for a handgun!
Don't care. $500 for a 1911 and a crate of ammo is still awesome.
 
Came home at lunch today just in time for canpar to show up! Cleaned up the gun and went straight to the range. 50 rounds thru with no issues at all. Ammo seems a little dirty but whatever cleaning after the range is half the fun. Grips are AWFUL and ugly though. Already got 2 sets ordered. Quite pleased with this gun so far. Thanks can ammo !
 
Maybe you'll get lucky with some funny shipping resulting in getting the gun in July, wouldn't that be a neat record, April, May, June and July :rolleyes:

Sooooo.........any of you gun nutz have a YouTube channel,and have your 1911 already? If yes is your answer,maybe fire up a vid of the said gun being fired? A video you will make hmmmmmmmm

Hey I was wondering everyone that has ordered replacement grips if you can send me a link in a PM. I was looking at some on ebay but said that they cant deliver to Canada now unless I read that wrong. But maybe you guys can direct me to another place.

This CGNer VERY much appreciates the deal you brought.

The .45 and ammo arrived today, 5 weeks plus a day from original purchase on April 23rd.

The gun itself it a clean model. Besides expected machine marks I haven't found and scratches, chips or missing blueing. Fairly heavy on the grease like others posted before me but the parts are there and this heavy beast will get a good cleaning come the weekend. I can't complain, and very much worth the wait.

The grips are intact, but I already have replacements to put on.
(Anyone wanting originals, PM me as mine will be donated to a good cause).
