OK,OK, you beat me to a second one, has anyone looked to see how many are left in stock,,?? I may have to sell my almost 58 year old body to afford another 1911 before they go out of stock!!! Let the burning begin ;0)

Maybe don't order you will be short of funds for sure! LOL! Unless your 58 year old body is a lot better than my 53 year old one! Either that or you will be like Jim Carey paying the rent without cash to his Octogenarian landlord! LOL!

I love seeing colt branded on these no name norc's

and the better camera helps too! nice gun man!

Well I thought I would deburr some of the edges last night before I took it out to the range. Cleaned up nice for what it's worth. No more sharp edges. Could use another wipe down but I don't want to get to fancy

I think Iam going to keep the brown plastic grips on it!

How did you do that?

I ordered the Norc combo today. How long did yours take to transfer and ship?

Ordered on the 25th of April... Considering the deal, I have no problem with the wait! After all, where else can I get a $170 1911 pistol?

Thanks CanAm!

Cheers
Jay

did you polish off the whole finish?

IM trying to find out if these are stainless steel frames can anyone confirm they are/arnt?

I received mine on Wednesday and wiped her down with some Gunzilla which cleaned it up pretty good. Last night I field stripped and blasted it with an action cleaner then wiped down again with the 'zilla. The finish on mine is actually pretty good, nothing to complain about, safety is a little tough to engage but not bad, trigger is pretty good too. The grips as mentioned by others are very cheap plastic and one of my grip panels is cracked/broken. Not a big deal, even if they were not broken I would definitely replace them. So like many others have done already, if you order one of these 1911's you may want to order some grip panels. Hopefully my new hardwood double diamond grips arrive soon.

Put the first 50 rounds though her today and boy am I happy. Sights are good as is and I shot really well (for me) with it, basically a 40 round palm sized one hole ragged group at approximately 8-10 yards. I feel like I can do better if I slowed down a bit and wasn't fighting some back spasms this morning, and now that I have my excuses out of the way here are a few pics...

Well. I ordered on the 24th of April. (One package.) Had some remorse and ordered a SECOND deal on the 27th! (Receiving confirmation immediately!)

Payment taken on April 29th and email rec'd to confirm. On the 15th of May I received an email containing the serial numbers of the items to be sent, and

a message that CanAm had initiated a transfer through the CFC. I called the CFC on Friday, (31 May) explained that I was hoping to find out the status of the transfer,

and spoke with a nice lady there. She could find no record that a transfer had been initiated, but was aware of my purchase! "You bought the two 45s. right?"

She asked me if I had received a form in the mail that I was to sign verifying my collector status. I replied that I had not. Then she proceeded to transfer my call to

the Ontario CFO, which was too busy to answer my call, and I had to leave a message describing my plight. I guess I wait some more, now! (My Birthday IS coming

up...)

LOL

Anyone else (in Ontario) have a similar situation?

Never thought of it that way, but it would be an extremely inexpensive way to practice and learn about the basics of 1911and most pistols! Gotta get another one!

Holly Crap!!!!

I'm going to call first thing on Monday about my transfer status now!!! I got an email that said mine had been transfered to the CFO for approval, but I am going to call to make sure they got it now! Do you have Collector Status, or are they trying to stall and screw you over?!!!

this is a silly question but i am a 1911 novice really. are the grips for a commander and a government model the same? a lot of the grips on ebay have "commander" in the title :/

thanks in advance
