Norinco 1911A1 barrel bushing

hey all,
I just received my Norinco 1911A1 from CanAm (wonderful deal by the way ... CanAm rocks!) and I proceeded to clean it cause it's pretty gross from the factory grease and noticed that the barrel bushing is super hard to swivel to release the plug. I have to use a hammer with a cloth to move it just enough to let the plug out.

Any body else having this issue? any fixes?

Sorry if this was already covered.

Thanks in advance.

edit: sorry, I forgot to mention that the tightness/binding is between the bushing and the slide ... bushing to barrel is quite loose so there will be no problem in operation

It's not only bushing to slide fit that you need to worry about. You need to look at bushing to barrel fit as well. On my canam norc the bushing to slide is TIGHT like yours. Not so tight that I can't get it off by hand, but close. Bushing to barrel is LOOSE. My first upgrade will be an oversize bushing to be fitted properly. After that, probably a new mainspring housing (the machining on the lines is HORRENDOUS).

If there is physically nothing broken in the pistol, simply shoot it out. Unless you are looking for an upgrade for accuracy and willing to spend more money, proceed as you wish.

yea, nothing is actually broken per se ... it's just field stripping would be an issue since tools are required to just remove the barrel and plug from the slide once it's in my shop, everything is fine.

LOL ... this is just my beater gun ... I wasn't thinking to upgrade reallly ... more like how can I mangle this thing to work like I want it ... LOL

Mine was also quite tight, but loosened after a couple range trips and cleaning. I got a Wilson combat blue plastic bushing wrench on amazon, $14 in total.
