Norinco .223 1600 round crates.... Do I need a giant can opener???

FWIW I had a crate from CA show up yesterday, no spam cans. Was from a slightly earlier order though.

Anyone know for sure if the Mini 14 target is actually chambered differently than the regular Mini 14? I'd be surprised if they are actually different.

Go on Rugers site mini 14 will shoot 5.56. Mini 14 target is only chambered for 223.

had bunch of crates from can am, none had spam cans

I am wondering if this is safe in the NR re-barelled vz58's. I know the original short barrels on the vz58 are 5.56, but not sure on the NR ones.... hmmmmmm

the ammo worked well in my norinco AR which has a 5.56 chamber (or I think it does anyway!) but it definitely felt like it was loaded hot

Yup, it makes lots of sense to me?? Having cans of 800 rounds that can't be resealed once their opened and the ammo rattling around loose.

Those 20 round boxes are nice. They keep the empties in easy to keep track of lots for reloading later.

All you get with spam cans, is a sharp edged, empty galvanized, rectangular receptical that is useless and needs to be disposed of.

Mind you, the edges of the thing can be rolled over and it makes a handy parts washing tank.

His mark up is very good to say the least. I think he would do it all day long with a smile.

I am really surprised that some of the other banner advertizers don't offer free shipping on orders over $100. Tradex has some free shipping offers but not like Can Ammo

nothing is free, its rolled into the price

at $500 they were making a profit with shipping rolled in. must still be profitable at $419 with shipping included or they wouldnt drop the price

I got a case from SFRC and I was pleasantly surprised to see it was 2 SPAM cans. I'm planning to hang on to it for a while (have lots of other ammo to shoot first) so that saves me having to dump it all out of paper boxes and re-pack in an ammo tin. I'm tempted to grab another case but would want it to be cans as well and there's no way to tell until you crack the crate open.

EDIT - just noticed in the description on the SFRC website it says the ammo comes packed in two 800rd. cans. Up to $449 now, but that's still a good deal, IMHO.
