Norinco 5.56 1120 Round Spam Can Deal

Took 3 hours from payment to process.

That was on July 16. No shipping notice yet. However, I've been down this road, and already have a decent stash so I'm in no hurry.

Once the shipping notice happens, I'm expecting 5-7 days to get it. That has been solid in both previous orders.

How long they take to process?

The packaging says it is 5.56. If you run it through a really really tight 223 chamber you could get a pressure spike. That is why folks say that you should not run 5.56 in a 223 chamber.

I placed an order but this type of incident with spent primers popping is disconcerting.

CANAM please provide an answer, you should not ignore this.

popped primers happen, it is 5.56 run in a semi without a primer crimp. Same issue the US had during AR testing in the 60s. But many people prefer no crimp so reloading is easier.

Well, do you know if this has been a recent issue with ammo other than Norinco? I sure would not want to have this stuff if I was in Nam surrounded by VC and I do not suppose the US would have wanted similar ammo in the 60s and shipped it to their troops ...

Anyways, this popping primer ammo could present a safety problem and thus liability issues regardless of what the US experienced in the 60s.

That is why they used crimped primers in NAM.

What kind of safety problem? I can see it causing stoppages but on a one way range I don't understand how it could be a safety problem.

I suppose that was a wise choice on their part, and no doubt they would not have awarded any sort of contracts to China back then.

I asked if you know of any such issues with other ammo? If not then I would think the premiun ammo is crimped?

If a primer pops and jams the action while you are shooting because you know the ammo may do that on occasion ... is that acceptable and could never be a potential safety/liability issue?

Agreed. Further, it is surplus ammo... Caveat emptor! If someone is that concerned then they shouldn't buy the ammo. Nice and simple.

If you search google for popped primers 5.56, you will see it is common

Thanks, have done a search on Google for "popped primers 5.56" and thus far read the following in posts.

S#*t ammo will lead to a higher likelihood of malfunctions. It's a fact of life with any rifle. POPPED PRIMERS ARE 99% DUE TO OUT OF SPEC AMMO

and

bad or hot reloads can cause popped primers

Alright, now what is needed is to know the best method to clear a primer jam in an out of service AR.

Does this only happens in Norinco 5.56 ammos, or ALL 5.56?

Where abouts are you in the land?

I'm in Toronto and they LOAFT on shipping. I'm used to it and desensitized enough now that I hold a hope, one day, knowing it will arrive.
