I got my stuff at brownells but I think Western Gun parts might have parts too.

Unless they changed how they started making the carrier between runs of the 780, I wish you luck getting 870 parts to work. I posted a pic earlier in the thread showing the 1/4 inch size difference between the two carrier blocks.

Their similar to 870 parts except smaller. Haven't got around to this yet its on the never ending "to-do" list.

Started with the bolt carrier. The cast is horrible at best. I was trying to produce an aluminum or steel carrier for around $80 but can't seem to do it for that price. Its getting closer to $150 to machine this part from steel or billet (pretty much making it indestructable) but I figured the cost was too high to sell (nevermind try to scrounge a $10 profit) so I gave up on it. Shot mine a few times everything works well just a little rough to rack.

Man that deal was to fishy for me, I had a feeling they were just pushing crap out and I bet they got them from the factory for like $10 each, being a business that needs repeat customers, they should have done a promo video saying how they won't sell these guns to us because they are crap and showed us the 100 gun being tossed into a fire, instead of ripping everyone off --- I bet they lose more $ in the long run with this move them they would have if they just junked them

It was clearly stated on their website that high potential of failure. Look for a 14" barrel new for $90. IMO its worth it just for the barrel.

disclaimer: I'm not complaining

They said they some require minor tinkering and break down the road. Mine had 25 rounds MAX through it before it completely crapped the bed. That being said, it was a gamble at $90 and I lost. I think every single one that's been out and shot say a box or two, has had a complete failure.

2 3/4 and 3". Feed ramp sometimes needs to be rebent at the tip. Also a few have had the action bar(s) break down the road. Most are fine but we put that warning down just in case.

I had an 870 carrier in mine last night. I'll have to look at it again more closely just to be sure.

Yup, I don't know if any are still operational after being used a few times. Mine had cadastrophic failure after a few mags through it. But hey, I guess you get what you pay for.

If you looked around you'd notice that these were basically sold saying that there is a good chance they would break. As to $10, I think not. They were cleared out for someone that took a huge loss on them.

This is interesting. I knew that China had poor QC but this is off the chart. It's right up there with selling toxic toys to young kids.

Why would they sell something like that? If "someone took a huge loss" then it means that he couldn't send them back?

Why would they make them in the first place?

I just finished reading the whole thread and I might never own a Norinco ever again.

the issue is norinco just slaps their name onto imported products from factories throughout china. With the 870 knock offs (as will some of the other models they carry) it was a mistake of theirs.

I never seem to hear bad things about the m14's, sigs or colt pistol they knock off.

But as stated above, when you get a gun for $90 and its a 50/50 chance it will fail, well you got exactly what you paid for.

First it looks like it's way more than 50/50. Second it's not a matter of price. These guns weren't meant to sell for $90 (hence the "huge loss").

Someone, somewhere had to make (and sell) these POS. It's not normal to make a bunch of guns that won't feed properly FOR VARIOUS REASONS. It's also not normal to make gun that will fall apart after a few rounds fired. Something is fishy, it looks like an experiment.

i agree, i cant imagine they planned to market something that crappy,

Norinco is up in the air for me, i woudlent mind one of their M14's and my buddy has a Norc SKS that shoots and fuctions great, but some of their stuff is....well you get what you pay for;)

for $89 its not a bad deal, but since i already had several other shotguns i decided to buy a tank of gas instead:p
