Norinco AR....What A Piece of Sh*T

just bought a 10.5, have tried 3 types of ammo, double feeds every second round. tried new ejector, double feeds. orderd a new BCG from NEA hope it fixes the problem. the worst ammo that double feeds every time is PMC FMJ xtac. the rounds seem to jam up into the feed ramps. im a newbie at the AR thing, could it be bad feed ramps? i hope that wasnt too dumb of a question?

mine is doing the same thing, it sat at EPPS for 3 weeks, North Sylva was saying it was extractor springs so i picked it up and changed the springs and its still doing the same thing, ####ing garbage! Im going to ask for an exchange because Im not waiting another ####ing month for somebody to look at it and confirm what Im saying. Im hoping they will do an outright exchange for a 14.5" upper, My other 14.5 works fine.

You need a Spike Extractor buffer kit from Questar. $7 fix, your gun will run like cream.

I have seen about 10 of the norc 10.5" that shipped without this tiny part. I posted a diagram in another thread regarding a norc fte.

Just take a look, a .05 cent part is most likely your issue

Thanks c0ntract,

Ill give it a try,

That is a big mystery.

The actual gun used in a violent killing spree that initiated the gun control agenda in Canada, is the one gun that escaped the prohib list and even the restricted list... even though it has been repeatedly described by the anti's as a semi automatic baby killer.

Really boggles the mind. AK, AR and FAL, never used in a killing spree are all prohib and restricted. Ruger was used to kill people and its the one gun left off the list when gun control comes in.

Any theories?

Rumor at the time was that it was skipped over to be able to claim that the law was NOT a direct response to the Ecole incident.
Another version was that they stole the checklist from IIRC California, to determine if they should restrict the firearms.

Face it, the laws were made up by a bunch of folks that were working fast, and knew very little about guns in general. I would bet on it, that with a bit of careful work, and a stack of back issues, you would be able to determine which magazines they had gathered at the local news stand, to use as a reference when the lists were being started. Same, pretty much, with the various Orders in Council lists (which we owe the old Conservative Gov't for).

Further to that, I credit too much time at the movies (ie: not enough work while in Ottawa) by our elected representatives, for the banning of various martial arts devices, and the likes of the "Yaqua Blow Gun and it's Variants". Stupid people think Hollywood crap represents reality.

Back to AR's.
Seen the Youtube vids by the fella that made an AR lower from Ikea cutting boards? Worth a look.

Cheers
Trev

about 3000 factory fmj rds & not a single problem, mine is a 14.5" !I got more than expected for the money! Good accuracy, breaking clay targets on the berm @200 yds with open sights!

Tonight I ran my Stag bolt in the 10.5 norc and it was flawless using american eagle and MFS , Ill be ordering the extractor kit to get the norc up and running

Rumour has it that all they did really was sit down with a couple gun magazines, picked a few cosmetic features that looked intimidating, and did their prohibitions based on that. :s

I don't know what the criteria was or is, but its mind boggling how an AK is prohibited yet a Tavor is non restricted. Both are military in origin, both are employed in actual combat globally, both were designed to be advanced fighting weapons from concept through development... but here in Canada one is illegal to own and the other is in the same class as deer rifles.

To any norc owners with ejecting/jamming issues, check your buffer. The 14" seem to be fine, but most of the 10" I have seen are missing this tiny little part (its literally a tiny piece of rubber about the size of a tip of a pen).

Nah, it's like this:

Have you ever seen the Southpark episode where it shows how the economy works? The one with the big round pie graph full of options and wherever the headless chicken stops dancing is the right answer.

Update: I installed new extractor spring and the tiny little rubber piece, Works FLAWLESS!

I tried P-mags and USGI mags and American eagle, MFS and some Norinco ammo And not one hiccup!

Thanks for the advice guys! :)

Norse, where did you get the parts?

Farmboy  I bought them while back but forgot I had a set until i was digging around looking for something else LOL

More than 4000 rounds through mine, NOT ONE MALFUNCTION!!!!!! I think it's a smoking value. My magpul hand guards didn't fit though. The forward ring is slightly smaller than normal.

It wasn't a couple, it was the Gun Digest Book of Assault Rifles, apparently pages from that book with 'x' marks on them were included with some FOI requested materials turned over to NFA. Seriously. The AR was going to be on that list too - if you love your AR, you owe the DCRA. They are the only reason the AR isn't a prohib.

Nice to see they actually drilled all the way through the gas key on yours. I've seen a few where "not so much".

If it works though, you have a good one - go out and shoot it a lot.

i keep hearing that some magpul hand guards fit and don't fit. whats the deal hahah??
