Norinco AR's

I would like to know how much does it cost for Norinco to make these rifles and the hourly wage at Nornico compared to say Stag or Armalite.

Looking at the price for the Norc M4 and then at the price the Czechs charge for -858's, it's still too much. :D

Actually, the price doesn't seem that much lower than what Questar was listing RRA guns for 2-3 years ago...

I've got the VZ58 and its a good gun. I haven't heard about the problems with the Norinco M4 that I've heard about the 858 (gremlin, and sights that run out of adjustment).

You don't always get what you pay for.

I saw an old COLT box for an SP1 with a price tag still on it from leverarms... I think it was in the $250.00 range...

Why don't you take your shinny new nickle; get a pop, bag of chips, and a ticket to the motion pictures... let me know what is showing on the news reel would ya'

hahahah... sheeesh... wouldn't it be nice.

Alot of the AR15's (I'd say most but I don't know for sure) out of the U.S have 16" barrels, no flash suppressor, no collapsible stock, etc...

At least China still trusts us...

Also, grab a gun rag off of the magazine rack and look at how fat the guys makin' those U.S guns are... I aint pain for that Bruger King (hahhah - jk)

Here's mine, she's a beauty:

I have mixed feelings about Norinco firearms... on the one hand I like their M14's a lot but the other knockoff guns I've seen from them have been pretty crappy. Sure they go bang but they're garbage when you compare them to the original gun they're copying. For instance, I had a real Colt Combat Commander, and a Norinco knockoff. The difference in quality and accuracy was obvious.

Also there is an ethical issue (I find) in buying guns from an enemy communist country that enslaves its own people and doesn't allow them to own the products they are selling us.

So, IMO, it's worth it to spend more on better quality guns made in North America, where part of your purchase is going to lobby for gun rights, and you know you're supporting employment on our own continent.

My 2 cents

I wish it wasn't so much, i was really hoping when these rifles came to canada that they would be in the 600$ range.

I suspect this topic will be like many on this site; those who don't have Norincos and may never have even seen one will "expertly" pronounce it garbage while those who actually have them love them. I have one, had a old school genuine Colt before that when most people didn't know what an AR was. Other then the "wow" factor of a gennie Colt there's little difference. Certainly not enough to justify the price difference.

An $800 AR is better than no AR at all. If you can't afford anything better than I guess it is ok.

If you can afford better but still buy the Norjunko guns... for shame. For all the reasons mentioned previously.

Yes i to had a pre1980s colt ar 15 and the only difference i can see is a little cosmetic imperfections with the norinco if you look close.Buy a big box of Ammo with the money you save buying the Norinco.

I love my POS CQ-311 - only had grips and furniture changed - otherwise great gun - accurate (outshoots some "pimped" AR's!) and has NEVER failed at anything! Besides the 1:9 twist can easily accommodate the .22 LR conversion kit.

The CQ311s were supposed to come with 1:12 rifling.

As a cash strapped (younger) shooter, I have no problem with Norinco. Why care so much where it came from? Would you be less upset if it was made in Pakistan? Or whatabout if it were made in the US by unskilled chinese migrants? Bah.. a gun's a gun.

Our government would probably enslave us if they could. There is also the case for Diemaco.

Well, Liberals have been trying for years (in the only ways their feeble minds can concept). And there is no more Diemaco... that fact has become redundant.
