How do the two compare? Which has better accuracy, customization options and most portable while still remaining unrestricted?

The Nork is restricted, so no, it's hardly portable, except when you go to the range. Of course, any AR15 is very customizable, so the Nork wins there. And as for accuracy, the latest target model of the Mini has it, but any AR15 is inherently accurate, and if customized with a target barrel/upper, is extremely accurate.

Since you are looking at portability, perhaps you would want the target Mini?

basically i'm just looking for something my fiancee can fire easily (.223), something that i can easily customize and something that is portable enough to take camping. How reliable is the ar-180b when it comes to jamming?

The breaking plastic lower receiver problem simply scares me off the ar-180b. If you don't need rapid fire, a bolt action 223 is going to be so much more inherently accurate as well.

might as well go with the newer Mini-14's, apparently they have a bigger barrel profile, but i wouldn't get the target model. for all the weight it adds the accuracy isn't great.

Any opinions on the NcStar pin-on muzzel brkes for the mini 14's that are on the Marstar site? I have the 580 series stainless steel ranch rifle. I really like it but I was wandering if a muzzel brake would improve the accuracy a bit. I am having a hard time finding a muzzel brake that will slip onto the barrel of the newer model Mini's. Any help would be appreciated as long as it's not knocking the Mini 14's. Thanks.

A muzzle brake won't improve accuracy. At all. The only way to get 'good' accuracy with a mini-14 involves a lot of $$$$.

as for the ar-180b isn't it discontinued?

Perhaps, but that doesn't mean the ones that were already here don't exist.:p You can still find them used, almost new, or new in box.

But there are a few AR180B accessories available, stock adapters, quadrail handguard and scope mounts.

I can't decide which one is better, so I brought both. Mini 14 Target is Ruger, US made, better finish with a good scope you can get sub 1" groups, M4 is Norinco but it is an AR, fun to shoot. Anyway, I am happy with both.
