Norinco handguns

I've owned the CZ clone, Sig clone, 1911 in 9mm, and M93 and I've never had problems any. They all shot reliably and accurate enough for me

I have 5 norinco handguns that all work great, no issues with any. I have a german made gun that broke the firing pin, on the first outing. Experiences will vary, and if I only go on my own experience, they are very good value. If I can only take one handgun, will it be one of my norincos? Probably not. :)

the newer model NP22 (Sig P226 copy) that I just bought on EE surprised the sh!t out of me so much, I'm definitely buying a NP29 (1911 9mm copy) the minute I see it.

Also have a chicom military model SKS and its great! ...sold my Russian and my Yugo as I'm no collector/historian.

Might need to sell my old 870 for big $$$ and buy 2 norinco clones for the same price, I buy a lot of ammo at my local walmart or crappy tire anyway. :shotgun:

Sounded like you were describing Para and NEA for a moment. ;)

lol, I kid, I kid.

All the patents have expired on the guns they make, and in the case of the M14/M305, I believe they even bought most of the original tooling from the US once upon a time (I may have been misinformed on that though).

As long as you are reasonable in your expectations of anything cheap coming from China, you probably won't be too disappointed.

First, given the choice between a Para and a Norc 1911 - I'm taking the Norc. I'm not kidding. I shoot too much ammo to mess around with crappy guns that develop fatal defects. As far as the M305 goes, Taiwan got the GI production equipment - the Chinese got into them because they wanted to supply Philippino Communist Guerillas with guns they could readily get ammo for, the Philippine Marine Corps uses the M14. Some of the first batches imported were very obviously re-purposed from other uses.

I have 3!

m93, NP22 and 1911. and I would by each of them again!

They all run well, with a few little quirks... Mostly cosmetic. The Mags can be questionable ( at least the M93 ones are, and 1 of my 6 np22 mags ). I also own a M305 and a Norc SKS ... I guess I am a Norco Plinko.

"...It shot all over the place..." That can happen with any brand. Use to shoot with a guy who had a Smith 39 that nobody could shoot well.
"...for the odd range day..." Not much sense in spending a big pile of money for fun shooting. A Norinco will do as well as any low end pistol.

That SIG copy that shot all over the place had the loosest feeling barrel ever. Gave the barrel a shake with the slide open and it was soooo obvious! If it says "Made in China"-beware.

Have the NP22 (Sig 9mm Clone). 500 rounds threw it and its flawless. Nice trigger (some old ones ave a hard double action) and groups good. no Feed problems and no stoppages. I recommend it as a great first Pistol

I have owned several of each. I found the 45 good and accurate. I found the 9mm alot less accurate. Would buy another 1911 in 45 for ####z and giggles.

have two 1911, one in 45, one in 9mm, plus a M 305. All run well, and shoot accurately. The 45 outshoots my springfield armories loaded model, and it's a commander length to the full size springer. The steel is excellent and the finish on the 45 is very good and much more durable then the bluing on the springfield.

Have had three Norinco 1911's in .45, all did what they are supposed to do. M93 Woodsman shoots great, has a loose rear sight. M305 that had crappy rear sights and an over tightened barrel, requires some attention. Two KKW .22 trainers - 2nd one better than the first, again the sights. A Sig copy in .40S&W I haven't shot yet. And my favourite the M4 Carbine copy, great little gun worth every penny. Two Tokarev copies - one in 9mm one in 7.62x25 haven't shot either yet.

i've had or have norincos (w/ most the finish is lacking)
several sks (reliable, accurate, for sks, better finish and accuracy w/ military sks compared to ones marked 'norinco'
np-18 feg copy(non-reliable, not accurate, - had the feg p9r to compare
three m213 9mm tokarev (reliable, accuracy good - vg
np29 9mm 1911 (not so accurate, ok reliable
m93 colt woodsman copy (very accurate, and once i shimmed mags and tweaked, reliable
backpacker single 12gauge (crazy cheap, $100 delived...jb welded bead & forearm - goes bang
bolt 22 2 piece wood stock, very accurate, very reliable, and one of the best finishes i've seen on any norc
jw-103 bolt 7.62x39 (beatiful wood, ok metal, not so good fit, good to very good accuracy with surplus,
though sometimes wouldn't go bang with the hard military primers
awaiting a used railed np22...have fired and handled a couple...fingers crossed
