Putting a 22lr ammo order together and also thinking about another 22lr.
Is the latest batch of JW15A garbage , I can't find much info on the NR 15 , looks to be the same action as the JW but a different mag. I've read some good stuff about the scorpio. They are all near the same price. I have several 22's in Brno mod 2, cz 452 and cz 457. I think nine in just those 3 models and then a couple 10/22's. Cheapest brno mod 2's around are the trainers and I can't lay my hands on them and dealers will only send a pic or 2 if you can get them to send one. They don't want anyone cherry picking the best. When it's $400 involved , I'd like to see a used gun first. $200 'ish for a new 22 is a little different and I can always send it back if it's a problem child. Not always fun sending a gun back and waiting for answers.
I'm dealing with a brand new Cz457 with a bad firing pin that has the chrome chipping off and the gun has never been fired by me. It just had a really slow lock time when using snap caps setting the trigger pull. Further inspection showed why. . Warranty center says they have never heard of any issues which I call BS.
Just crappy weather right now to do any sort of testing . - 20 c is not when I want to be shooting a 22 or any gun.
Whats everyone's opinion on the 3 I mentioned.

I took a chance with two separate 15As from tenda late last year. Bolt wouldn't go into one of them and bolt wouldn't open without a mallet on the other. Utter crap. The older ones are nice little guns and decent plinkers. The Scorpios are a huge cut above in fit and finish... I've owned three. All great. The "ergonomic" stock is not well liked but it works for me. I currently have a 22 inch Scorpio.

With support of both my dealer and the distributor, likley almost 10 years ago, I went through 3 JW14s; the third one was the charm in that it had a straight barrel. It was a bad lot, the distributors gunsmith test fired 9 rifles until they found one and sent it to me as the second replacement rifle.

The bolt was stupid tight, almost inoperable, but it did shoot. I started by using a tracking agent (red lead paste) and gently working and smoothing using needle files, diamond files, and die-stones. Once working freely, I polished the bolt and the inside of the receiver. Main issue was that the bolt was contacting the barrel too closely. I had the same issue when I rebarreled my CZ455 with a CZUB Varmint Barrel. in the 455/457 you can shim the barrels, Earlier CZs, and the JW15 (clone of CZ Model 1) have pressed in barrels.

It's trigger was OK, but it was super acurate, and not picky about ammo. I bought a truly beautiful CZ Mod 2, then more than a couple 455s and a Mod 4; I sold the JW to a guy who really appreciated it. :)

I also bought a Scorpio shortly after, and it shot well right out of the box; it was finished nicely, and ran very smooth with a pretty good trigger. I have suggested these to young and new members on a budget as an entry level .22. Those who buy them, really like them; they perform above their price point consistently. Some like the stock, some don't, I found it comfortable; my cousin added weight to the butt stock for freehand shooting. He found it nose heavy.
