Hey anybody have any info on the Buttplate on the M-305... it swings out and up and stops just past 90 degrees. What is the funciton of this feature and is this typical of these rifles?
Thanx for any info.

That is standard M14 style. Apparently it was designed for assisting the shooter when the guns were fired full auto.
the Norinco M14/305 in .308 Winchester, no problem using them for hunting?ive heard you can and that you cant.
and...how are they for accuracy, and function? i really dig the look of them, even just to buy to have one.
When hunting with a scoped M305, I have come to the conclusion that a 3 point sling is pretty much a necessity. It's because the effing thing is heavy.
It's a lucky coincidence that the fold down buttplate helps hold the stock part of the 3 point in place. It's some weird, karma thing where a old school design and new school accessories mesh perfectly.
As an aside, I took a bull moose with my M305 this year.
