Norinco M-93 .22 Woodsman Copy

I shot one last weekend.......Very simple but surprisingly accurate and VERY fun and cheap to shoot....I think I'll pick one up sometime soon ......
 
I bought mine about 3 years ago. I use it for introducing new shooters & some plinking. Mine is ammo sensitive but with the right 22's it is a fun, inexpensive little gun.
Buy one & have fun. Plus Marstar will stand behind it.
 
Costs less than a 1,000 rds of 9mm. Fire off a 2,000 rds of .22 and the gun just paid for itself. Mine has around 7,000 rds through it now.

A couple of bits of advice

Don’t let other people load the mags, the lips are easily bent if forced and the gun will then jam. Each round should drop in, never force.

Don’t let Gun scrub or similar anywhere near the grips or mag followers as they will melt.

I don’t bother taking mine apart, flush with WD-40, wipe dry and oil with gun oil.

The grips will need a little bit of filing to take the sharp bits off.

Yup it's a small pistol! The mount is actually just sitting on top.....I was talking to Gunnar about the feasability/cost of cutting some rimfire grooves into the receiver so I could use this BKL mount but he was to busy and thought it would be to expensive......I sent mine back because the quality was not quite what I wanted (rear sight was loose and had a poor quality screw to hold it tight and it was having some feeding issues)
 
I like mine, I think mainly because I paid $75 for it. Got it barely used from a guy who bought it from Lever Arms and got fed up because it was very finicky about ammo. I've had better luck with it, but do get the occasional feeding problem. It's a great pop-can shooter and it's small enough to feel like a prohib in your hand (good for women and kids for that reason and the .22 calibre).
 
Ref. the loose rear sight.

This is a common issue with this gun. Remove the rear sight from your field stripped slide. Make a good center punch mark in the spot where the set screw ill be when the sight is zeroed.

Put a drop of super weak purple loctite on the punch mark.

Reinstall sight. and torque down the set screw. (Dont over tighten)

If you pick the right spot it wont shift on you and can be adjusted after warming up with a bic lighter.

If you get it wrong, use a 1/4 " punch and smooth out your punch mark and try again. You can sight the correct spot by the rub the set screw makes in the channel, or you can remove the screw after zeroing and mark the spot to punch through the hole.

Did it on mine. Work great.

I never did get used to the trigger pull though. Too small of a gun for me to be any accurate with.
 
I handled the real Colt Woodsman today and have to say it's a cute little thing :) The rear sight is really small so it might make it hard to group, but the grip wan't too samll for me.... I think I will get the M93 now...
 
My kids love the M93, easy for them to shoot and hardly ever jams as long as you feed it .22's that don't have a waxy film on them. I have taken it hunting gophers and it worked great. The grip angle feels the same way my Luger does and actually is more reliable than my luger. I think it is a great little plinker for the kids to learn on.
 
I absolutely love mine!...Ugly, unrefined, cheap but damn, does it ever perform!!! For 195$ shipped to my door, I can't complain at all, gets my vote. It is totally what I expected, except more accurate!
 
this is a very nice little gun, all steel, ok blueing (only drawback is the loose rearsight)...sure it has sometimes problems with ammo... my other 22's are sensitive as well..
but what a hell of a plinker... and what can you go wrong for 150 bucks?
