norinco m14 shorty disassembly help, bayo lug blocking gas piston from coming out?

Chalkriver should get a prize lol.
You undo the plug, then the gas lock. Slide cylinder forward, rotate and remove piston. Don't anyone panic, you just have to think it thru :D

Would unscrewing the ring the gas plug screws into give you enough room to get it out ?

Ding Ding Ding..This is how i did it....:dancingbanana: You don't need to rotate the cyclinder either, just move the 8 ring out of the way

i got it out , just had to rotate the gas lock ring out 90 degrees after taking out the plug then the piston will slide out. Thanks for the help boys.

Rotating the cylinder makes it easier to swab out the cylinder. I use a barrel swab meant for a .45acp barrel and it has a 6" handle, so rotating the cylinder enables piston removal 'and' access to the cylinder during rifle take down/cleaning. Works for me on my factory 18.5" krieger build.

What's worse is the gas plug interferes with the bayonet. The bayonet contacts the gas plug and the bayo ring is still 1/4" from the flash hider, so the lug is useless anyway. Now what the hell am I going to do if the zombies come. I'm too old and fat to go hand to hand:runaway:

Your gonna have to mount the flashhider sideways and go Ganster with it or get out the Red Green ...lol

Too bad it doesnt fit :( I was looking around on fleabay for a bayonet since ordering mine.
Thanks for letting us know.

I'm thinking a direct connect vortex or an SEI navy brake, I use optics, so I don't need the front sight and the bayo can mount on my full length m14 so all is good.

You only have one m305?

You should have a second long barrel norinco for the zombies :D

If you read the post above you, you can see I was going to mount the bayo on my other M305:D. But I have to admit that as much as I like them, my true love is my Armalite AR10:dancingbanana:

Just grind the bayonet down.. Drill a relief hole in it...
