Norinco M4 bolt not going all the way forward

I noticed my norinco bolt is very rough. I imagine that they are slightly out of spec and at the factory it looks like they just grind them to fit. If you have another bolt carrier or can get one just try that to rule out the gun itself as well. If all else fails you may need to work the bolt to fit the rifle. I would rather replace a bolt carrier (As I am assuming the bolt would still be good) for 80-100 bucks than an entire rifle. Guns are like cars some things fit perfect others need to be made to do so. Anyways good luck.

The one you posted is not a Norinco bolt carrier. Norc carriers are metal grey. Not black.

And mine do not work in any other AR's I have. The gas key is too small and won't enter a spec tube.

Yep, that's what I said on page one. NEA

I would also like to state that I am not an NEA hater. Nice to have Canadian companies in the AR market.

The whole entire BCG in mine is in a grey finish. Almost feels parkerized. Not black like yours. They may be on to something.

One of his pics looks like when I put my bolt into the carrier rotated 180 one time and the dam thing wouldn't go all the way into the upper. I thought about it but said no way I did that, contined to fumble for a minute or so and sure enough the extractor was at 8 o'clock and not 2 o'clock lol.

I just checked my old Nork bolt to be sure. It doesn't allow me to install the cam pin with the bolt 180degrees out. Thought it may have been an out of spec hole on the bolt itself. Guess whatever I did that evening wasn't caused by this.

Well like I said the new BCG fixed the problem. Had to spend a little more than I was planning. It is still weird to me that the Norc bolt worked in my Colt and the bolt out of the Colt worked in the Norc. If it isn't a Norinco BCG I find that a bit odd too. Why would someone switch out made in China parts for North American ones? I will check the extractor position on the original bolt tomorrow ad make sure it isn't assembled wrong.

My only complaint now is the play between the upper and lower and I ordered an accuwedge for that.

You have it fixed for sure. I could have sworn I got the cam pin into that bolt backwards once when it was new. Oh well I couldn't get it to do it just now for a check, so I guess the Norc bolts are like US bolt's in that regards anyhow. I tried a small o-ring around the forward upper lug. It made a big difference in play. Not sure if that's an approved fix either.

Umm, the cam pin will go in backwards on an SP1 bolt. The bolt will close too. It will then be very hard to open and you will wonder what you did wrong.
