I've just finished putting the 1800th round thru my Norc.
Ended up buying a cheap dot sight (1X) and took it out to the range tonight to sight it in. (Barska 1x30 M16 Sight
Tactical Red Dot - ACOG looking thingy).
Spent the first 40 rounds trying to pretend it was a "normal" scope with my rounds all over the place. It wasn't until I took a couple of quick shots at a 3' diameter steel plate at 200 yards and heard the ting of hits that it occured to me I might be trying to shoot it like a conventional scope (which it is not).
Figuring I had nothing to lose I decided to try and shoot a 12" wide by 18" high gong at 200 yards with the stupid thing (At 1X there wasn't a whole lot to aim at). The only thing going for me was someone had painted it yellow so it sort of was visible in the fading light.
Rather than getting the perfect sight picture I decided to squeeze off rounds as soon as I got a decent sight picture. After two ranging shots (12 o'clock hold) I decided to dump the last 8 rounds from rest into the gong. Wasn't expecting much as the barrel was hot and my previous attempts at grouping sucked (6" at 100 yards all over the place). Was using Fiocci factory ammo.
Nobody was more surprised than me when I proceeded to hit with all eight rounds shooting at a cadence of about 1 round every 1.5 - 2.0 seconds. I actually sped things up on the last 3 rounds as I figured there was no way I'd hit all 8 rounds.
Why do these things all ways happen when you're the only one on the range?
When I went to inspect the gong the group was 8" wide by 12" high.
Yes!
I am one happy camper at this moment

Keep replaying the hits in my mind - still can't believe I got this lucky - must of been a good Karma day!
