I'm not sure, but my spring is in the way when I pull the pin to open this thing up,is it supposed to be in the way?(and in the way of closing too) Am I missing something? Has something flown away on me?:bangHead:

i'm assuming you are talking about the recoil spring in the buttstock(collapsable buttstock),

there is a spring loaded pin that holds the recoil spring in place so that it dosen't jam the action.

push this pin down and keep it pressed as you push the recoil spring fully into the butt, then release the pin.

if the recoil spring keeps jamming in the action, then your spring-plunger combo is broken, sheared off or otherwise defective...

It does not jam while firing, only that it's in the way when I push the pin to its "open" position.I have to push the spring back out of the way using my finger to either open or close this now..I don't remember it being a problem the first time I removed the bolt though.

The way I'm understanding you, the buffer pin and spring may be missing so it doesn't retain the buffer assembly and action spring in the buffer tube while you lift the upper receiver from the lower.

Here's a pic,it's not really showing much but you will get the idea, thanks for your input guys.

I've seen this before.

If you're trying to close it, push harder on the upper. Sometimes it needs a bit of a tap to go down because of a tight fit.

If you can open the upper that far, the buffer retaining pin and spring are fine, so disregard my previous post.

Put some muscle into it.

If you release the hammer, it will be easier to close. When the hammer is cocked, it puts tension on the bottom of the carrier and in turn on the whole upper.

open it up...is the buffer spring retaining pin there? The buffer tube needs to be threaded into the lower receiver far enough to retain it (the pin). The buffer spring doesn't appear to be retained for it to be coming forward as it is...

When I try to open it..the spring wants to fly away..or jams is this normal? Or when I close it..I have to push back the spring with my finger...hmm.

Well, then there is something wrong with the buffer retaining pin and spring after all. Or it's missing. An incorrectly installed buffer tube may be part culprit as well.

Looking at his pic...the first thing I thought was the buffer tube was out further than it should be (hence the loss of the retaining pin)...but if the pin is there than I'll need to see some photos of it opened up...

I've only had this to the range twice...the bolt was removed when I brought it home from the gun shop, put back in that weekend at the range..no issues.I removed the bolt at the end of that day but didn't notice any pin taking to the air.I guess I'll have to take it back to see what can be done about it..I'm assuming it has to have some sort of warranty,if not..I can't see a pin costing very much anyhow.

Edit:Brordo,I'll take another pic of it opened up...will post in a few minutes.

Thanks again guys...

Mike

I'm sure this can be trouble shot right here. No need to take it in for warranty. Lets see photos of the top rear of the receiver while open.

If doing it yourself...when you get the retaining pin...you'll need to thread the buffer tube further in to retain it...this will require loosening the castle nut, which will loosen your end plate. Be careful as there is another small spring behind that (retains the rear takedown pin)...you don't want to lose that one. If you need a visual youtube is your friend...

Well, that doesn't show us much. Need a photo from the top of the receiver just behind the takedown pin that's sticking out sideways. And remove that action spring and buffer before you take the photo.
