Norinco M4 - upper/lower kinda wobbly?

Has anyone else noticed that the upper and lower for thier Norc M4 seems a bi twobbly? Is this normal/dangerous?
 
I'd avoid the accuwedge...more trouble than it is worth. A lot of ARs have some "wobble". This really doesn't have a noticeable effect on accuracy or performance for most shooters. Now if we're talking about David Tubb...:)
 
That play is normal... if you don't like it, or it makes to much noise (whilst sneaking up on the offending paper target), stick an earplug in under the rear pin to tighten things up a little

Cheaper than an acuwedge

Better to loose than to tight... I had an AR that I had to tap the rear pin out on... not cool for field stripping.


P.S. Colts do it too.
 
You can use an accwedge, but use a knife to cut down the shelf so you don't have to use monster force to clam down on the receiver.

I have an accuwedge in one of the lowers, but I have it cut down such that it closes like normal receivers without any force application, but it doesnt move either.
 
I am interested in the CQ 5.56 Carbine sold by Arms east. Any opinions on the rfle and Arm East would be appreciated.
 
Thanks for the advice/ribs guys; it's been a few years since I handled a C7 and I don't remember that kind of play (nor did I have the option of customizing it).

I think the only bad part of the gun I've seen is the finish doesn't seem to like CLP. It does take one of those .22 conversion kits though and I actually havn't had a chance to shoot any .223 out of it :(

One weird thing, maybe it just needs to be broken in - but my 10 round mags don't "fall out" when I hit the mag release (the 30/5 ones do).

How is the accuracy and reliability of the CQ 5.56 Carbine (M4)? Is there a lot of plastic on this rifle? What magazines does it use well? Does the barrel overhead after say 10 rounds?
 
I could NEVER stand the wobble in any ARs' that I've owned ,even for a tight fitting one , I'd throw in an Accuwedge . I confess I'm an "Accuwedge " junkie ! When it comes to being too tight to push the take down pin , --all I've ever needed to do with a tight fit was compress the upper to the lower while pushing the pin outward to start it .
My vote is of course , --lose the wobble!!

As long as it's normal. I'd noticed this myself,but maybe wasn't as bad as Harbl's one.

From what I gathered, these Norc M4s seem more than ok for the price, and if the finish isn't great, I'd just do a nice dark gray/ green camo with Duracoat on it, problem solved.

I noticed Questar's new Tactical Innovations Lower has a very cool fix for this...Might be easy enough to copy with a tap I may just have to look into it.

Play between the upper and lower has no effect on accuracy and is intended to increase adverse condition function. Any of the gadgets and gizmos that claim to eliminate play and increase accuracy are money grabs plain and simple.
