Norinco M4

Sounds good, I'm in.

I'm expecting a 600-700$ pricetag: if that's the case, I can replace the stock with something a little better, remove the carrying handle and put an EOTech on it instead...

Should be interesting.

At the right price, I'm in for one. Compatibility is an issue. If the pin sizes and buffer tube thread is correct, I'm sold.

woha people stop going higher and higher with the prices thats why we get ripped in canada, you dont go to the cardealer and say i'll give you 50000 for a geo.

look for the best deal.

Springfield M1A = $1250 US
Norinco M14 = $400 CAD

Any make AR15 = $1250 US
Norinco M4 = $400 CAD???

I did exactly the same calculation today, and ended up with the same result... isn't it amazing ?! :D

For the metric/imperial problem... if it occurs in the Norinco M4, well (excuse-me for the shameless plug), but my friend Fabrice at Fabsports, sells an adapter, so you can put an american stock on a CQ311.

You can't harass a dealer with an unrealistic price either. Those that think it will be $400 are delusional.

Will this be an actual M4 replica? I don't believe the Chinese ever had direct access to technical drawings or actual M4 carbines like they did with the M16A1 and M14...

Did they have M14 blueprints to work off of? I was under the impression that they were reverse-engineered from actual guns. More than enough AR-family guns out there for them to work from.

Although if you use greendoh's industrial espionage angle, they're much more likely to have ripped off Taiwan which did build the M14 for a while.

I love speculation......

Well here is some reality.

AR = restricted
M14 = non-restricted

Non-restricted = more potential buyers, higher chance of moving merchandise, quick return meaning less need be charged to cover cost

Restricted = Less buyers, going to sit longer before it sells and every sale needs to pay back the most to cover those units that will sell at a later date so I can make ends meet.

A guy like Marlon Bran... err I mean John at marstar knows what the market can take and knows his employee's need to feed themselves and families as well, so he will price his guns accordingly especially with so many years dealing with as finicky and cheap buyers as the Canadian gun community.
