Actually, 45 pages of #####ing and whining, hope and despair, and the contributions of 2 pretty fair sized importers means we're as sure as you can be in the firearms world that these rifles both exist, and in fact are heading for our shores. That being said, if we don't all get off our arses and vote and get out and support the Conservatives all bets are off, 'cause Stephane Dion wants to turn us all into caring environmentally aware metrosexual drones. Manhood will be banned just a couple of weeks after the last firearm.

I pray that the Norc m4s get here soon, I'll take 2. (I hope the SKS boat comes too, so I can tuck a couple of them away)
These WILL arrive.I have seen,handled and fired them.The Chinese m4's(Polytech,not Norinco)have performed admirably at various tac rifle matches in the lower mainland.

so far all the Nork M4s were show up in BC...and I doubt the price will be as reasonable as we expected...

China does not extend that freedom to own to it's citizens.
It is the Olympics that are stopping them from coming. The shutdown doesn't end until October at the earliest.

The Chinese aren't communist at all. They are totalitarian statists, but not communist. not anymore. Most perfectly capitalist society in history.

Capitalism implies private property, which implies a right of ownership and use. They have that only in theory; the state can and does confiscate and control at whim.
They would more properly be termed fascist. State control, nationalist (instead of classist - the hallmark of socialism), private management but of , ultimately, the "people's" resources.

It's called being a developing nation that used to be borderline stalinist. Chinese is an emerging capitalist country, but it's leadership is still very much communist.
When you have the largest population 1.35 Billion people
you too will be restrictive with peoples rights. Unfortunately we don't quite understand what it means to have that many people living in our country.
Chinese do not think in a western way, they think about things in a Confucian way. The leader is absolute and to serve him and co-operate with your fellow country men is to bring harmony.
The leader is by our standards fits the totalitarian model.

This sums up Chinese rule nicely. it also explains to a limited extent other Asian countries rules, or past rules.
We as westerners find this "wrong, unjust..blah blah....." just as a lot of Chinese find our system lacking in morality and respect and self discipline.
Criticism goes both ways here.
