Norinco M4

Thanks guys for the info. I found a really good instructional video on the net for stripping down the AR type rifles in " how to " They don't talk about the lubricants and cleaners though. I think a nice silicone wipe cloth will do the trick for the exterior. Off to look at gun cases.

because there is an antirust compound that is usually sprayed i n the barrels of some manufacturers guns... if not removed well who knows.

i always clean the barrel first, rest of the gun can get clean later.

I always run a patch through the bore on all my guns before I head to the range . But stripping & cleaning is for after the shooting

I found mossberg/maverick is the worst for me, you get a brown tar out of the barrel that looks like a smokers lungs and takes quite a bit to remove.... you can sure tell thedifference though when your done.

TDC. I guess that's what I really meant. Cleaning if it needs it but more importantly, just handling it and getting to know the firearm. I would definately run a patch through the barrel if nothing else. I was admiring your signature. Where did you get that. Heee Heee

"Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous press which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

I fully agree, running a patch or two is always a good idea. The Sig line I borrowed from another forum member.

Ordered mine from Arms East about 2 weeks ago its on boat stuck in the ice near Newfoundland..

Oh God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please tell me this isn't true. The whole reason I ordered one was because I was tired of waiting for my T 97. Don't tell me I have a whole new waiting issue on my hands. When I spoke to Walter on Monday he told me they "SHOULD" be in next Tuesday (April 7).

Walter thought that he would have them on Monday March 30th. I should hve just ordered from Lever.. If I had known that Arms East had no stock..I really dont like the fact that my CC was charged for something that has not been shipped or even in stock..

That sucks ! I guess Can Am has started a new trend .
Did you phone in your order or order on line ?

I couldn't believe the ice thing but two members saying so.....well I guess it's true. Too bad guys. Hey, why not put on some cleats like mountain climbers use and just truck on out there. I expect my M4 by Friday unless Canada Post drags it's heels. Nice outside. In the plus 8 degree range. Looking forward to some time at the shooting club. Alberta always gets spring first. Now that I've said that, watch it blizzard like crazy.

I ordered online and sent him a PM...

I am going to be coming back from CFB comox and stopping in on the range at 1600hrs tomorrow (Friday), was wanting to take a look a the M4, but if its stuck on ice, then oh well. I guy is coming with his XCR that I'm wanting to see. =)
