You would better served buying a regular 1911 to mdify and tune, instead of the NP-30N, in my opinion.
Not that I don't like them. I own both a NP-30
AND a NP-30N.
I've had them for a few years, IMHO, they are good, accurate, reliable pistols.
The NP-30N is a wide bodied pistol, meaning that only
SOME of the regular 1911 parts will fit. mostly in the top-end.
The NP-30N has the series 80 style firing pin safety. this means that there are extra parts, and makes them more difficult to tune correctly.
AFAIK,
ONLY the Norinco mags will work.
I don't see how you could change the finish without stripping the Nickel from the gun.
It's already polished pretty nicely.

Thx, I figure it might be a good cheap 1911 to have some tickering fun with. I was thinking making a mirror finish with it. And mabey changing some parts with it. It also comes with some nice parts on it already. Seems like a good base for a custom 1911
