I was just curious. This one seems to be a new model from norinco in a nickel finish. I was wondering if anyone has it. I hear the finish is not the best on the norinco's. Anyone have any ideas? Seems like a good price for what you get.

It's not new, a buddy of mine had one, bought it new about 5years ago. I've shot it a lot, really like it, but I'm a Norc fan so maybe a little bias. Finish is really good on it. I have a standing offer to buy if from him but he is still not ready to part with it. Shoots as good as my other Norc 1911's, a thing to mention though is that the grip size is quite a bit bigger than non-double stack 1911's. I say buy it if you want the nickel finish, if you just want a Norc 1911 stick with a single stack and buy a 10rd mag if you want. Just my .02

Thx, I figure it might be a good cheap 1911 to have some tickering fun with. I was thinking making a mirror finish with it. And mabey changing some parts with it. It also comes with some nice parts on it already. Seems like a good base for a custom 1911

I got one with an armco tuned trigger off the ee a while back and still very happy with it. the finish is very good. just make sure you get plenty of magazines. not sure if any other pistol mags are interchangeable with the norc .45 double stack.

FWIW...

You would better served buying a regular 1911 to mdify and tune, instead of the NP-30N, in my opinion.

Not that I don't like them. I own both a NP-30 AND a NP-30N.
I've had them for a few years, IMHO, they are good, accurate, reliable pistols.

The NP-30N is a wide bodied pistol, meaning that only SOME of the regular 1911 parts will fit. mostly in the top-end.

The NP-30N has the series 80 style firing pin safety. this means that there are extra parts, and makes them more difficult to tune correctly.

AFAIK, ONLY the Norinco mags will work.

I don't see how you could change the finish without stripping the Nickel from the gun.
It's already polished pretty nicely.

Your money, your decision Eh!

i took a belt sander to the grips to make them thinner to fit my hands a little bit better.
