Norinco NP29 1911 9mm Accuracy ????

Those of you that have, or owned the Norinco NP 29......how was the Point of aim accuracy ? Was it pretty much right on, or a mile out ?
I talked to one fellow that owned one, and he told me it shot way High. Are they all like this, or are they as accurate as a full size 1911 45acp ?
 
Nine mm accuracy depends far more on the ammo than anything else. Generally the heavier the bullet the better accuracy the pistol will display. Beyond that it depends on how closely fitted the pistol is - if you shake it and get rattles it won't do well.

The two I've shot were dead on and produced neat tidy small groups.

The downside is that with Norinco products most are just fine but there's a good share of them that rattle and have other fitment issues. Such is the cost of buying low cost products with a broad range of what is considered acceptable.

I ran into something like this with the two $99 M213's I got from Canada Ammo way back when this deal was on. Both guns needed to be shot for a while before the barrels or maybe the fitting of the barrels in the locking lugs of the slides broke in and the guns began shooting well. One took about 100 rounds and came in nicely during the first evening. The other took closer to 250 rounds. Knowing I had good luck with the first one I stuck it out with the second. In the end both shot amazingly well.

Your NP29 might have had something of the same issue or some other fitting issue that if corrected could have resulted in a great shooting gun.
 
thanks. I guess its best that I buy new....then I can go through a few of them and pick a "well fitting" one that doesn't rattle. I"ve bought new 45's and I've looked at 4 or 5 before I made a decision. I guess I will do the same with the 29 model. I have taken some to the range and they were dead on, and a few that I really had to work at to get them shooting straight. Also had one that shot 3,6, 9 and 12..Yikes !
 
My NP29 is one of the older ones.
It shoots very accurate, but I also added target sights so POA is adjustable.
The new .45 Norc I bought last year shoots POA accurately at 25yds out of the box.
 
well I went and handled 4 of them at the gun store. Rough slides, 20lb trigger on one LOL, next 3 were gritty with way to much travel. The barrel bushing on 1 was to loose for my liking. These np 29's are defiantly not on par with the regular 45cal nork. At this point I will pass.
I fondled a Star B Super at the same time and was very impressed ! Very nice trigger, tight smooth slide, nice fit and finish through out. Kinda put the nork 29 to shame LOL. So I bought it instead. Will take it shooting and see how she does shortly.
 
accuracy ? will let you determine that when you get norc Np29. My daughter (when she was 16yrs old) can hit an eight inch plate at 25yds with the Norc 1911 A1 80% of the time. 99% of the time, it is not the handgun. Bullets will land where the muzzle was pointing at when it was fired
 
I was getting pretty good groupings from a np29. Then my friend with better eyes shot the same gun and the group was cut in half. At 25yds from a rest it was about 1.5" 5 shots. I didn't keep the target. This was from a 2013 version btw.

It shot point of aim.
 
Just got mine about a month ago. Shoots OK. Line up the dots, not the top of the sights. When the dots are lined up, the poi will be the top of the front sight, which is a bit lower than the rear sights. OK for me because I'm already used to lining the dots up on my glock tritium night sights.

You will need new mags. One of my 9 rd mags is really 8.5 and the other binds at 4 and needed filing to get past that.
