Norinco Olympia .22LR... any reviews?

Received my Olympia from Marstar. Fit, finish, packaging, etc. all looks great out of the box. I have had some issues unfortunately:

- Safety switch was nearly immovable. The actual lever is too tight against the frame and the detent ball is too hard to move out of the detent in the frame. This is an easy fix. Take the grips off and bend the lever away from the frame a bit which releases a lot of that tension. The safety works fine now.
- One of the magazines wasn’t falling freely out of the frame. This was also an easy fix. The plastic extension on the bottom of the mag was a bit skewed. Loosened the screws and straightened the extension and it now releases freely.
- On my first range outing I don’t think I had a single magazine without 1-3 rounds failing to eject. It was almost always on the first 2-3 rounds of a magazine and occurred with both mags and both Federal and Winchester ammunition. Loading only 4-5 rounds in the magazine seemed to help and it seemed to get a bit better as I put more rounds through the gun. The rounds always ejected after dropping the magazine and cycling the slide.

I’m hoping that a good deep cleaning will help the next time I get out to the range. Going to try a few different ammo types as well. Not sure if it’s something that I am doing when I load the magazines, if my support hand is getting in the way of the slide, or if the spring tension needs breaking in, but hopeful that it starts cooperating.

I almost bought one about 6 months ago, but came across a near new Beretta Neos prophet river had on consignment for $200.
It's fugly as hell, but accurate, and the ergos are really good for one hand shooting. Pretty much a copy of the old High Standard operating system so solid there.

Thanks for your post. Your two problems are also what I faced. In my case I simply powered through the safety and now it's fine (maybe not the best technique), but I will try what you did with the second magazine that does not freely fall. Cheers.
