norinco pistols

The NP30 is fine and needs no mods. As a combat style pistol with enhancements, it is good as it is.

My NP30 functions very nicely, I have had no problems with it whatsoever. I bought it used and have put several thousand rounds down its pipe. I like the extended ambi saftey and extended slide release. The trigger pull on mine is not bad. The exterior finish is very nice. A couple of my mags are getting tired and the replacements are very proprietary and a little spendy.
I believe for the money, Norc rifles and pistols cannot be beat. Sure, there are some dogs in the line-up, but posting questions here can help weed out the junk...in spite of Janeau's opinion...

Nork Improved 1911

My Norinco buddy says they're exploring the Canadian market for the "Improved 1911" pictured below:

A little stainless steel on those safeties, hammer, and trigger would really bring that Norc to life. I wonder if they'd consider doing anything like that.

I have a NP30 and like it very much. It works great and most parts fit... from other 1911's If I need a barrel that bad I can always a Norinco Barrel for $349.00 and the rest of the gun comes free. (buy another NP30).

So far I have only changed my grips and it functions great. It came with extended ambidextrious safety, an extended beavertail safety, and an extended slide release. The double stack mags work great and well :D

This is the standard .45 NP30 Double Stack that Marstar sells? And had ambi safties, cool.

Man I really like the Improved 1911 above, I think Norcs are an excellent place to start basic gunsmithing, they are cheap and rough. They have great potential.

Yes its one of the ones that he was smoothed out.
I an glad that I bought the better grips for it though.

I plan on bring it to the range as soon as I can to find out.

Congrats Fremen. I am looking at one for the near future. I have the NP 29. Only modification was the grips, and I use Mec Gar magazines. It has functioned better than I had expected for approx 4K through her. I have never had any problems with my Norinco's. Let us know how she handles.
