I just ordered reloading stuff for .223 from Higginsons... all I need now is the firearm! I'm up to 11 different calibers to reload now. Damn, I NEED a bullpup (and a cheaper hobby).
I'm in.
Some might consider this rifle ugly, but hey I like it.
Couple questions though. The ones coming in have the newer grip as part of the trigger guard right? Not the older model thin trigger guard? I like the forward grip one the best, and it seems to be standard. Deckard's trigger guard request just had me worried. I don't really care if it doesn't look non-restricted. I want the ue of that front grip.
Also what is the twist rate on the barrels?
I actually don't want the 1:9 and am hoping this rifle will be 1:12 so I can shoot the easier to find and much cheaper 55 grain .223 ammo. It doesn't really matter that much, but it just seem the 1:12 would be more appropriate for this type of rifle, especially since reloading doesn't seem to be that great of an option (unless the brass is at the end of it's life from your other .223 rifles).
By the way CanAm, your web guy lied.
I left a message on voice mail.
I had a Tavor and more than one 97 but I did not shoot them side by side.
But in my opinion they shoot different tho.
This was shot this with my Type 97 in a friendly competition a month ago.
My rifle: Benchrested, Zeiss scope.
Distance: 109 meters.
Each group is 10-shot. The squares in the grid of the paper are 1" x 1".
Shooter: Lector (not drunk). He used his own ammo.
Between group 6 and 7 he took a break.
He went to smoke his lungs, drink coffee and bully some of his friends on another range.
So it was enough time for the barrel to cool down before groups 7, 8 and 9.

Who cares about accuracy.......barn-door'ish centre of mass works for me.
But I really wanna find-out what the web-guy lied about!!!![]()
The pre-order for the Type 97 was supposed be up already on their web site. I can't find it.
Hmm guess so. I've only had my Swiss Arms up and running and it has the 1:10 twist rate. 55 grain ammo shot like crap (Which was expected). 62 grains were decent.
Still I'd prefer a barrel with the best twist rate for the 55grains. Since this is the ammo I'd be shooting out of this rifle. But I guess 1:9 has more versatility. That's the twist rate on my Ruger mini14 target and CZ-527 Kevlar (haven't shot either yet).
CAN AM is becoming THE guy.
Now if you could import cheap HK rifles...![]()
Yes; CanAM is THE MAN... however, his website guy deserves a kick in the butt.
