Why don't people manufacture unitized gas cylinders?...
It's unfortunate that these awesome guns need so many tweaks![]()
Unitizng does not fall under the "needs" category
It falls under the "wants" category
The "needs" category for an out of the box, standard M1A or M305 would be
Ensure muzzle device is correctly machined and fitted
Ensure front and rear sights are positively functional
Ensure correct stock fit
Ensure thorough cleaning and inspect general parts fitment
Ensure correct greasing procedures
Ensure inside bolt and gas system are clean and dry (no oil no grease)
Ensure rifle passes all safety checks
And hit the targets with a schwak of ammo.
Get to know your rifle and then decide on upgrades/smith work
Also due to some builds being a money pit, my approach is this
First, upgrade for functional reliabilty
Then upgrade for ergonomics that suit me
Next comes upgrading for accuracy if required
And last upgrading for cosmetics so your friends say holy crap look at that when you show up to your range with your rifle
